What if CCP created new dropsuits beyond Proto!? Think about it? Proto suits are Prototypes of something more Finalised something that has yet to be released onto the world. I personally think giving us atleast 1 more Dropsuit tier would be awesome. The Ultimate Dropsuits. Pure God-Mode
What do you all think? Should there be a new tier to Dropsuits? If so what would they be called? How would they be designed??

You mean like officer suits? Balac's assault dropsuit, for example?
God-mode, definitely not. 10% better than proto at 5x the cost, why not?

No. If they did this, they'd better be insanely expensive or Salvage only. Like officer weapons, these would make Pubs viable for everyone, keep them in Basic/STD/ADV gear and maybe get Officer Dropsuits.

They did back in closed beta. HAVs were Super God Mode suits that did everything 50x better than any other suit. |

I like the idea of Officer Suits. They could be suits that are highly rare and expensive. With the new FW changes what if you need aton of LP to get the officer suits for your respective Faction?? |

Make it salvage only, and I can get behind this. Put it on the Market, and it's too easy. I have some salvaged officer weapons and other such stuff, getting officer suits through salvage is the only way to balance this. Just my 2 ISK.

No sidearm, guess there'll be no officer AV then.

Wasn't there talk of completely removing the tiered weak-to-strong theme they have and replacing it with a specialisation tree where more skillpoints allow you to excel in specialised niches.
That way it isn't just a massive grind to the boring-ass UBERSUITS. |

And overall better stats for them. Those above are for the ones that are higher than usual, the others are tiered.

Duh... look at the stats of the suits. they have a "meta" level. Meta levels don't stop at 10. Additionally there are 3 tech levels of equipment and ships in EVE. So far, everything in DUST is still at tech level 1. There are Tiers and Tech levels and the meta number tells you where they fall at on that scale. A basic suit is not only Tech I, but also Tier 1 (meta 1). Advanced is Tech I, and Tier 3 (meta 4). Proto suits are Tech I and Tier 5 (meta 7). In EVE when Tech II came out they started meta numbering them at meta 5. And officer level stuff is above meta 5. In DUST I have to assume that when Tech II hits they will be meta level 10 items. |

But you're supposed to have an advantage in these suits. No weapon can zoom as much as a Thale's, for example, which is a massive advantage.

There should be other tiers of suits. At the moment you have medium that splits into assault and logi.
If you then make the lvl 3 or 5 of those and specialize again.
Say the logi level 5 & scout level 5 unlocks the ewar specialist. Someone who can dampen their team and wield scanners at 20% of the CPU after scanners get CPU multiplier of 5.
An assault 5 & sentinel 5 unlocks a black eagle variant that has two light weapons, lower profile and faster speed for the equivalent of an interceptor etc
Ideas only not set in stone. So far I was thinking these should all be racial based and loyalty points to unlock the skill book then isk to buy the suits.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.

The advantage of a new "level" of stuff doesn't work that way.
In EVE, FW ships would get bonuses kinda like what you have above, different slot layouts or modified roles, but not always. Sometimes they just get a slightly better bonus and that's it.
For officer level stuff that refers to pirate NPC factions. Most of those rely on a 'hybrid' or combination of two races racial bonuses for their ships. So The Angels are a combination of Minmatar and Galente and thus you receive one bonus based on your Minmatar ship piloting skill and another separate bonus based upon your Gallente ship piloting skill. I would assume the same here in DUST as the Black Eagle suits are a combination of Minmatar and Gallente racial stuffs.
Now when they introduce Tech II stuffs, that's different. Originally the Tech II ship would be based of the Tech I variant of the ship that they were based upon. So they would have same racial and role bonuses and slot layouts etc. The major difference was that they would have an additional role bonus combined with vastly better shield/armor resistances. Now they've refined them to be "specialized" ships. Where a Tech I ship can be configured to do a wide variety of things, a Tech II ship gets a very focused role bonus now and it really only good for that one (or two) thing(s).
I would assume that if they ever get to the point of Tech II dropsuits and vehicles they will be similarly task focused but able to do that one thing very very well.
