DUST Fiend wrote:FW the only way to call in an orbital strike is if a friendly EVE pilot holds the point for 3 minutes. So basically, bring lots of friends.
what constitutes friendly? before this update you needed to be in FW eve-side and you would fire for any requests fighting for your faction.

For Faction Warfare battles the pilot will need to be enrolled in the militia, either individually as part of the NPC corp or that pilots entire corporation can be enrolled. You can fire for allied militias too.
is there anything dust-side that allows us to enroll the corp in FW? |

For Faction Warfare battles the pilot will need to be enrolled in the militia, either individually as part of the NPC corp or that pilots entire corporation can be enrolled. You can fire for allied militias too. I am a vocal opponent to this segregation between Dust and EVE members of the same Alliance. This would mean an entire Alliance would have to be strapped into FW just to provide bombardments for their boys on the ground. While this isn't important to the Dust-side at all, it is very hampering to an Alliance in EVE. If you guys are trying to bolster support between EVE and Dust players, I should be allowed to bombard for my guys no matter what militia they fight for or what militia I am (or am not) enrolled in EVE-side. This needs to be rethought. There are really no drawbacks to allowing me to warp to a beacon, choose a side, become Suspect flagged (so the factions don't have to take a sec hit to shoot me for interfering), and continue as normal. Hell, give me a sec hit for each dude I smoke from orbit to "discourage" me And unlikely as this is, technically it is possible for Dust players to fight for a militia that their Alliance isn't enrolled in, and that means the Alliance could be bombarding their own guys, and are barred from supporting them.
that's my frustration too. i understand capsuleers have to pick sides, but mercs dont? that aspect makes sense in the sense that they are guns for hire, but i'm running capsuleers in my dust corporation with the sole intent of using them for OB. my capsuleer should then be no different than a ground merc, a gun for hire.
ultimately i think FW enlisted capsuleers should be able to fire for their respective faction. That makes sense eve-side. I also think though, that capsuleers in corps of mercs should be able to support their guys also as a function of simply being in corp.
