Comparison 1. The Basic Heavy frame has 5 slots combined to fit modules in. The proto Commando has 3 slots to fit modules in (I count equipment as 1 module here). If you consider that the Commando gets 67.7% of heavys base HP, this does not really make sense. Commandos should be more versatile than heavys, trading HP to gain more module slots. 2. Basic Heavy Suit can equip 3 weapons: Heavy, sidearm, and grenade. It does not make sense that the specialized suit trades a grenade AND heavy weapon slot to carry a light weapon (less fitting requirement). 3. The movement speed of the commando is not significantly faster than the heavy suit.
In general, my thought is that the concept of this dropsuit needs to be re-iterated and the slot layout rebalanced. It also needs a grenade slot and a buff to CPU and PG in order to be competitive compared to the basic heavy frame.

Basically. The proto Commando ak.0 can be compared to a Militia Amarr Heavy Frame in fitting possibilities, but with more CPU and PG and grenade swapped to an equipment slot. This is alarming.

1. put item into game 2. no one use it? 3. ok nerf others ;) (joke) .. boost a little.
Comand have potential of game breaking (as same as heavy - if you read description of heavy suit ;))... but with toons of disadventages there is a little margin of play there. Just wait few months. |

As someone who is slightly knowledgeable about the Commando suit, I can say with authority that the Commando ak.0 has 2 high slots, not one.
That said, it's still very UP. |

The heavy suit doesn't even live up to it's own description. If it did, It would take Duvoles longer than a half second to down my proto heavy suit.
The forge gun splash radius nerf has not diminished my ability to kill infantry with it. Thank you.

the only thing I would change would be a boost to it's shield regen rate.

I think it's more a combination of the two. Weak armor, strong AR.

We all try on a Commando now and then, but nobody runs Commando exclusively. The players (who play test the game daily) have spoken, correct?
I put on a LR/MD Commando now and then. It doesn't work as well as an Assault LR/SMG, which plays the almost the same role. If you play a non-PC match and don't see a suit type, it's a useless type in the Grand Pecking Order of suits. The Commando needs to be improved.
If the Commando isn't faster than a normal heavy, why does it have less armor? Why does it have less slots?
Then again, heavies suck in general. A HMG gets schooled by an AR, SR, almost any "R". I hardly ever wear my heavy suits anymore, unless I need to forge a tank.
Give the heavies their BALLZ back!
More importantly, make the Commando relevant! |
