Also if you TK and drop standings, you might end up in a No mans land due to the fact you may not having enough standing with the other side to get back in. Therefore locking yourself out FW all together. I say enjoy being on the outside looking in
Ok...so then what's your answer to the issue, just not play? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this closer to how EVE works?
It's risk vs reward. The Devs already indicated that there is a mechanic to let you gain enough standings back to continue to participate.

Not looking to fix anything on it. Im not sure what post your replys for. Does not look like mine
Ok, I probably wasn't clear. I took your comment about "outside looking in" to mean you were sitting out FW. My second comment probably could have been clearer...CCP FoxFour answered your "no man's land" question directly...you regain baseline faction standings overtime so you can't be in a "No Man's Land".
On related note I caught your #161 Podside...that was a pretty big patch for Dust and you breezed over it ( you sounded like hell, hope you shook the flu). I was hoping for some additional discusion from you guys on how this is / isn't a solid step in the direction of EVE / DUST integration or overall quality of the game. |

Shad...
Ref. the No Mans Land discussion, awoxing, and concerns of the Podside crew that it crimped some of the Meta aspects....

Kirk has a nice advertisment that I suspect will get some business. Probably the way of the future. Also, your Faction Standings effects the amount of damage you can do before being kicked in a match. I think this actually puts a premium on high level meta play.
If you are a "trusted" asset with moderately high FW standings you have to pic your shot for when you turn the tables. At the higher standing levels you can kill 10-12 guys before kick. That can be pretty devastating if you know what your are doing.
Yes...it would create a big faction standings hit and again, it's risk vs. reward. If you are a junior or relatively unproven asset your leash is shorter (lower number of kills before kick) and then you have a cooling off period before the Faction might bring you on for another contract. Actually works pretty well. |

So along with a 24hr ban you maybe locking yourself out FW all together. I say enjoy being on the outside looking in Edit: This isn't the first FPS with ff, but might be the one with the most negative actions Either I'm not understanding you or you have a misconception about how FW 2.0 works in DUST. 1. Everything I read points towards not being able to go negative to any faction. 2. Your standings don't affect your corp. Just the four NPC FW corporations. 3. The lock-out until down time is the worst penalty you can accrue and then you start again.
Spot on, Reav. |
