Not sure how standings will start or how/if standings can be earn outside of FW, but keep in mind the standings can hit on a corp level. Also if you TK and drop standings, you might end up in a No mans land due to the fact you may not having enough standing with the other side to get back in. Therefore locking yourself out FW all together.
I say enjoy being on the outside looking in

Awe, my throwaway alt character on my separate and infinite supply of free accounts with passive sp rolling is so sad.
This is going to be like opening a fine wine. Let characters cook off month after month just to pop them out and blow it all in one session. YAY!
Do your part. Join the revolution. Sabotage FW. Watch DUST burn!

Tbh, you'd do much more damage protostomping the enemy team in a match than you would logging an alt to pop a few blueberries, then waiting 24 hours.

that's people like us, not people like them.
there is obviously a difference, and if nothing else FW has made that obvious. |

Ok...so then what's your answer to the issue, just not play? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this closer to how EVE works?
It's risk vs reward. The Devs already indicated that there is a mechanic to let you gain enough standings back to continue to participate.

All works just as effectively.
A rage or force quit here can be equally as effective to a pubstomp.

I'm speaking to those that want to hop on the TK bandwagon. Not looking to fix anything on it.

Ok, I probably wasn't clear. I took your comment about "outside looking in" to mean you were sitting out FW. My second comment probably could have been clearer...CCP FoxFour answered your "no man's land" question directly...you regain baseline faction standings overtime so you can't be in a "No Man's Land".
On related note I caught your #161 Podside...that was a pretty big patch for Dust and you breezed over it ( you sounded like hell, hope you shook the flu). I was hoping for some additional discusion from you guys on how this is / isn't a solid step in the direction of EVE / DUST integration or overall quality of the game. |

Either I'm not understanding you or you have a misconception about how FW 2.0 works in DUST.
1. Everything I read points towards not being able to go negative to any faction.
2. Your standings don't affect your corp. Just the four NPC FW corporations.
3. The lock-out until down time is the worst penalty you can accrue and then you start again.

Shad...
Ref. the No Mans Land discussion, awoxing, and concerns of the Podside crew that it crimped some of the Meta aspects....
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=125759&find=unread
Kirk has a nice advertisment that I suspect will get some business. Probably the way of the future. Also, your Faction Standings effects the amount of damage you can do before being kicked in a match. I think this actually puts a premium on high level meta play.
If you are a "trusted" asset with moderately high FW standings you have to pic your shot for when you turn the tables. At the higher standing levels you can kill 10-12 guys before kick. That can be pretty devastating if you know what your are doing.
Yes...it would create a big faction standings hit and again, it's risk vs. reward. If you are a junior or relatively unproven asset your leash is shorter (lower number of kills before kick) and then you have a cooling off period before the Faction might bring you on for another contract. Actually works pretty well. |

I just received confirmation from CCP FoxFour that you can't go negative in faction standings. My EVE pilot is so hated by the Amarr that he'd have to join an Amarr oriented FW corp and then do a huge grind to recover. It's pretty clear that they wanted to avoid that here, which is a good thing.
