Heavies are not as bad as Scouts, in my honest opinon.
Scouts and Tanks are the worst, right now. I have no idea of how the vehicle rebalance will change things for Tanks. At least there's a chance they're going to be useful. Unlike Scouts...

Scouts have it rough, dropships sure, anti vehicle weaponry is potent, but at least you have the vastness of the skies and the element of surprise.
Tanks on the other hand are big, loud and within an arms reach. |

I like as a show of solidarity...because I love piloting my ADS, yet it is so infuriatingly underpowered.
Oh, and whenever anyone ever drops a DS, everyone on the opposing teams immediately gets a boner (regardless of gender) and pulls out as much proto AV as possible. For some unknown reason.

we spawn with it right off the bat. When ur capped popping all the yellow and red installations is one sure way to get your thousand SP. About the time you get airborn I am getting to your redline. Guess what happens if I let you drop a load of dudes on the roof tops.
in short you could hold off a bit and avoid instant death. But then your team will have to fight on the ground. |

Thank you for the recognition of scouts having it rough. But its not as bad as it looks honestly. Most people that think were meat havent had my pistol pointed to the back of their head, or the mental talent to move away from the small pulsing orb flying towards them that is a plasma cannon shell,,

Thanks for the love Sinboto.
I have a hunch that 1.7 will be a good buff for ADSs and dropships in general. With the ability to remove side turrets, huge buffs to missile splash damage and shield hardeners and boosters, and awesome skill bonuses, the ADS is looking better than ever. Now with the prospects of Minmatar and Ammarian, as well as possible ADV and PRO tiers and pilot suits, there's plenty of room for innovations and growth for dropships and pilots in general.

There was once a time where these mythical machines reigned free
The skies were their playground and all below trembled in fear
They reigned missiles of death and dropped killers from the sky
But one day, one woeful patch update, and all but a few vanished into oblivion
The time of AV had come.
The groundwalkers celebrated a time of peace, tranquility and quality swarms at affordable prices
Alas, now a shadow looms over the land. 1.7 draws near, and with it, the dropship pilots return...

To be honest, everyone has taken the shaft to some degree- even logistics. The biggest problem is how suit roles are defined. Of course this is an FPS and our point is to shoot each other. But the problem is that our secondary roles, whether combat or non combat weren't properly thought out. For example, the most controversial class in the game: logistics. Aside from extra effectiveness in running support, there's very little incentive to use higher met equipment in a way that it overshadows the gains of fulfilling that role over simply killing. This has been a recurring issue since the logistic's creation and has come to a head in Uprising. Simply adjusting WP/m for "support" related actions and prorating WP by equipment meta level while lowering gains for lower tier would be a step in the right direction, but the problem runs deeper than that when you compare the only consistently defined role with others that have changed over the course of beta. Now I don't have all the answers to how to fix the issue, but the least I can do is bring the problem to light.
Class roles need to be defined in proportion to a suits given combat potential. The suit shouldn't dictate what a player must do, bit instead gently nudge them in a given direction with enough open interpretation to do so while playing outside specified parameters to allow flexibility. It's not what you should be doing but what you can be doing and having fun doing it. This is every class whether scout, assault, heavy, logistics, pilot or anything else that enter this game.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Infantry wise I know its the scout.
Vehicle wise I want to say the Dropship (class) but the most specific vehicle would likely be the enforcer havs.

its funny because the dropship has been in a sort of predicament for some time. With one forge gun, I live in fear the entire match, if I even survive, I get only like 6 kills. but without proto swarms or forge gun, I can easily go 40/0 (have done it multiple times). Forge guns will be the only thing that can stand up to a dropship come 1.7, and it will be interesting to see how the next month plays out.

Right...so when I pull out my ADS after the initial 'rush', you won't have any AV? And when your team sees half a fleeting glimpse of a vehicle, especially a dropship, they won't all panic-rush to supply depots and fill the air with a hundred and one swarms and forge rounds?!
Because it sure doesn't feel that way...

I wouldn't call it a panic rush of fear. It's more like post Xmas sales where you're afraid you won't get a shot in and make 'em go Tch Tch Boom. So pretty with the smoke and the flame and the clones jumping out, oi.
Having said that more drop ships have killed me then I've killed them. At least the pilot does alone with me in those instances...
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.
