And I have friend who have more wealth and power than you could ever amass. What is your point? They too are immortal. They are mighty armoured war ships, able to cross the systems of the galaxy in hours.
What are you to them? Better or worse? Certainly not equal, nor better.

I consider all Immortals my equal, whether new or mighty. My half-sister is also a Capsuleer, just got her implant the other day. She's already wealthier than I.

I have met many leaders of interstellar alliances, pirates, space vagabonds, no doubt you are a capable leader, but none of these very successful figures thought themselves better than others.
Except the pirate, they are all effing cocky SOB's with good reason, they are ******* dangerous as hell....
I don't know if your ideals really can cultivate a following to rival these others....but in time we shall see.

You're only as immortal as your clones are. Cut off the supply to your clones and you are dead for good. This has already happened twice, first time with Tibus Heth trying to kill all clone soldiers for good, and for the second time during the Templar Manhunt. But yes, with access to cloning technology, the only thing that defines who we are is the information we carry in our brain. A friend of mine coined the term "infomorph" for our kind, which fits quite nicely.
And to actually reply to the question, we are different in many ways. Being informorphs is the first one, second comes all the genetic modifications our bodies have gone through to practically make us super-soldiers. Most of the weaponry we use would kill, or severely injure a non-clone soldier or unprotected user. We also think differently, death is nothing but a financial loss, which makes us a lot more reckless than you usually would be.
((And I would really like to have some kind of webpage for all the written and unwritten DUST 514 source material, the EVElopedia articles are a little lacking at best.))

Immortal clone mercs are wealthy yes. However they have lost all humanity.
So the question becomes what brings more personal satisfaction? Wealth or humanity and the feelings that go with it and understanding of the frail condition of human life? |
