While there are other things I want to see in the Scout, like an extra equipment slot, an extra high/low slot, etc, I am most excited for this and it isn't something that is talked about
The extra sidearm essentially gives better coverage, meaning scouts who chooses their engagements get to choose their best weapon for the encounter. This would be a boon for specialists weapon scout who can now compete with the generalists weapons users and make scouts stand apart from medium frames who use specialist weapons.
Sniper/ScP/NK,
LR/SMG/FL
Shotgun/BP/SMG
or....
BP/NK/IP for some fun
So instead of the staying and stopping power of the medium frames, scout offensives would have utility to fit the scenario the scout finds itself in.
Add in that extra equipment slot and only a slight increase to cpu/pg means that scout builds will be different on the major sacrifice they have to choose in one of the three areas (mods, weapons, equipment)

Scouts have barely enough pg/cpu to get by. If anything I rather CCP work on making Black Eagle an actual variant. |

CPU/PG increase should be a given to CCP, and many scouts have talked about it for a long time, the sidearm thing is an aspect which has not been talked about.
In regards to a second light weapon, either the commando needs to be rebranded as a light frame or else you will cause an imbalance there, regardless it would be something other than a scout and be another light frame variant.
While I don't prefer this method, you could also have different racial scouts have different set ups between light weapon, sidearms and equipment slots layouts. But again I prefer that they fix the commando, whether that is a weight reduction on the unit or fixing its stats.

A compilation of ideas to fix scouts. (Some mine and some from other topics) -Extra equipment slot -More CPU for Minmatar and more PG for Gallente -Shared squad vision -Hacking doesn't alert the enemy team -Link active scanners to a dropsuit's total scan precision -Dampening applies to squad mates in proximity -WP gained for preventing scanning attempts -M Stimulants add to melee and movement speed -Cloaks when standing still with a 10 second cooldown (Scout suit only)
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I don't know, its not for lack of 2nd sidearm that I usually die.
That being said, I'd like to see a nova knife only slot.

I know personally I'd rather have an extra equipment slot with pg/cpu to go along with it but I could see the appeal of another sidearm slot. Maybe give up a nade slot to accommodate? |

I would say NAY to this. Here is why: I think it's a neat idea but it's a garnish to what's otherwise a broken suit. I don't want ideas like this to get traction because what can happen is CCP would grant you your wish and would call it a job well done and scout fixed.
Scouts should be fixed in a reasonable way. Thereafter, they can add stuff like trading an extra sidearm slot for equipment slot or any number of other things that help diversity scouts but IT MUST COME SECOND AND AFTER THE SCOUT IS FIXED. Otherwise, it's just distraction from the task at hand.

This is not "the" fix for the scout, I've literally made like several threads on that matter and abuse the scout thread for those fixes, this is more of a utility boom which has not been discussed before in any of the scout topics

What if nova knives got a free nova knifeslot on all scouts, nocpu or pg at all, that would give you 3 weapons, except one would be a knive slot, side, light. If we had this an two equip I'd start to get happy. Fittings like: Sg Smg Nk Nades Nano hive/uplink Remotes/scanner |

Rather than making scouts combat viable, we should have a light frame specialisation specifically for combat. That way we don't have to constantly balance the assassin vs scout vs miniature assault suit, and everyone's happy.
I was thinking dual-wielded sidearms
