Why the can't I have a LOCK on my HAV!
Do you really think its funny CCP to make it so you can troll a teammate who spent countless hours, SP, and ISK to build something?
Check your sense of humor...
Because I have a funnier joke: It's called DUST 514 and everyone who works at CCP. Now there is a joke everyone is laughing at WORLDWIDE!

That's not a lock. It's a timer. I want a LOCK, not a delay counter.
And Mr. Fiend, I didn't die. I jumped out to set a squad order, and the blueberry spawned in and took my HAV instantly. I got on the TEAM VOICE and even asked him to please get out... no he drove right into AV.
I personally don't think its funny that a product of me working over YEAR on this game can go to waste like that. |

Didn't you read the DevBlog? Vehicle locking is a feature in 1.7 coming on December 10th. Chill the **** out. Your vehicle will be locked to only allow you as the driver for 15 seconds, and to only allow your squadmates into secondary positions for 5.
Oh my God. That's not a f*cking lock. That's a delay counter. I want to be able to flat out lock the thing until I decide to unlock it. How do you keep random blueberries from jumping in AFTER the 15 seconds. The 15 seconds is only when you call it in. Say it with me "L-O-C-K"
If I jump out of my HAV, I don't want anybody getting in it. If I want to recall it, I don't want to have to worry about a random blueberry idiot still in my HAV. I have spent HOURS(that translate to days/months) of my time and patients learning something as ISK heavy as HAVs, but some random blueberry scrub can just jump in my HAV and get a free ride, because he doesn't have to pay for it.
HAVs need LOCKS. We have been saying this for 2 f*cking years, and CCP will not do it, because they think it's funny to waste their player's time. We have enough grief in this game from the fact that it doesn't work for sh*t, it doesn't need more purposely built into it.
Something as simple as a vehicle lock is perfect evidence that CCP could care less about their playerbase, or that they even know what they are doing in the first place. WE have more experience in FPS than THEM, they should be listening to US. |

Whoa, buddy. Keep the thread on topic. Don't need to bring in a Corp feud. Your corp is good, and so is ours. I don't know what you guys think during a game, but normally we just grind for ISK and f*ck around. We're not ones to protostomp... unless severely provoked. |

KEROSIINI-TERO wrote:8213 is right. Vehicle Lock shoud be simple to implement yet I've witnessed 18 month wait for it - and still going. Temporary delay timer for delivery isn't lock, though it addresses the most blatant cases of vehicle stealing (and accidents as well!)
King Checkmate, this is not really tank qq. It goes for any vehicle, and even when condisering tanks it's not about their power but whether you have control of your 'suit' or not.
Exactly, we skill into vehicles like other people skill into suits. How would someone like it if a blueberry could just walk up and take your Duvolle, while you're calling in an OB or creating a squad order, right out of your hands and get a free pass to use something expensive. Sounds foolish when you put it that way, but for some reason people can't translate it to HAVs.

Locked of course. productive cpm Eve doesn't have vehicle locks at all btw :P Either way conditions I would accept it as a normal feature 1 A blueberry can still hack your vehicle to obtain control, this prevents vehicle capping trolls. Regardless of lock status or not. Said blueberry has to be out of the vehicle though, and no occupancy in the driver seat. 2 RDVs should pick up recalled vehicles regardless of whose in it. Emphasis on RDV portion. Only 'owner' can recall. 3. Any owner that recalls a vehicle gets it added to his assets. 4. Has to be easily accessible control on the field, not something done before going into match. Probably barrow the squad order button once you exit the vehicle or not in it yet.
All good ideas... but CCP simply doesn't listen anymore. |

The Baby Shaker wrote:I agree about locking your vehicles and keeping people out of it, but what I was wondering is why a tanker is squad lead. Your missing out on alot of free wp from putting a defend order on it and also making it harder to drop an OB cause we gotta wait for you to find a place to park, hop out and drop it.
True. But sometimes you are the only "choice" for squad lead... Normally if I'm squad lead, I'll ride shotgun in the tank while the driver has the defend order. I have been in my tank when an orbital was acquired and had to pass it because a blueberry was in my tank and didn't want to risk him taking it.
Its sad that because of the horrible playerbase and CCP's short sightedness that we tankers fear a teammate over the enemy. Would you trust anyone with something that costs 600,000-2,000,000 ISK? |
