HMG and Shotguns should be auto-winning in CQC, Lasers are fine, Mass Drivers are fine, Sniper Rifles are fine, SMG are fine, Pistols are fine, Flaylock needs a buff, Plasma Cannon needs a buff, Swarms get even worse(1.7), and Forge Guns will still 1-shot Infantry. Just nerf AR damage down to everything else since the damage nerf will hurt everything else alot more than ARs. |

1.4-1.6 has made it apparent that this entire game has been balanced around bad hit detection.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I put 1.7 after it...
FIne as in not killing you in under 1 second in Laser optimal. You have time to get to cover if you're hit by a laser user unless you're wide open, and you deserve to die if you are. And it requires set-up to even get the desired DPS of the Laser.
The problem with the AR is that it's unconditionally killing people within 45 meters in 1 second or less. No other weapon in the game can boast this. The only weapons that can compete are the Sniper Rifle or Forge Gun, and that's outside of everyone's optimal not just the AR. Everything else in the game is working as intended right now. |

The ARs are the only major problem as they received a significant buff with the new hit detection.
AV =/= Completely dominate and render vehicles useless. AV = Counterpart of vehicles that combats vehicles.

Agrees with the op. Plasma cannon WOULD be fine if it had a larger splash zone. double it and youd see people actually using it. But then again I only see myself in the feed with the cannon. Occasionally another person. Its probably become the loldrg of dust.

With the vastly improved HD, it's painfully obvious that when compared to other weapons, they (as well as the ScR) need a slight damage nerf.

TTK is the code word that has allowed us to follow a long winding path to the truth: that the rifles are indeed overpowered.
For a long time any "Nerf the AR" thread was shouted down by the peanut gallery.
However talking about "TTK" didn't set off the AR/SCR fanboys, so civil discourse could occur.
So yes, ARs and SCRs are the problem, always have been since the introduction of aim assist. "TTK" is the smokescreen we used to get to the point where we can talk about the rifles openly. |

IMO if we are going to nitpick, having a rifle that charges up like a forge gun for more power, shoots rapidly and accurately like an AR and is Longer range than the AR seems slightly OP, and possibly a cause for some calls to adjust things. That said I do not believe the scrambler rifle to be OP but it does tend to kill fast whether in an armor or shield tanked suit. The AR requires many round to land on target to destroy someone while the scrambler only require one charged shot and 2-3 uncharged thereafter to kill most suits at the proto level. TTK is the issue not any one rifle or FG or MD or sniper rifle. An SMG will kill you just as quick. The key is finding the sweet spot on players that are stationary and mercilessly training them to jump, dodge duck and stumble all over the battlefield, all the while firing their weapons at the ground in panic that they are getting shot. Most of the time this will decimate a newer player and have the added benefit of frustrating the proto bears stomping around the battle field.
To fix the issue of TTK we basically need one of two things (IMO). Either reduce the damage that was added before hit detection was fixed or buff everyone's total health. This can be taken even further though by buffing both shield extenders as well as armor plates by 10-20% and still keep the matches relatively short because we can not actually hit people we aim at.

I don't really get the issue with time to kill. I did notice I was dying faster after 1.4 but that was when hit detection was improved. obviously your going to die faster with more bullets landing so I don't really see an issue with ARs or TTK. |

mass driver needs a radius nerf the blast radius it is a lot larger than a grenade atm.
I agree TTK is a bit quick atm - maybe a 10% damage reduction bar AV ( would also help with logi/assault balance due to side arm) .
sniper rifles need to cost more ......they are dirt cheap atm compaired to the rest of the guns and carry less risk, IMO should be the most expensive of the guns. |

Technically its not the AR its the auto aim / bullets, particularly the bullets that seek around corners when you duck and cover.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.
