I think the only fair way to do scouts is 6/5 slots two equips . Cal 4h2L Gal 2h4L Min 3h3L Am 2h3L
All should have a 20m scan range an 40 db, other stats can vary.
Although ccp will never make suits like this because with one more slot an equip, scouts that are already good will be unreal, this will put scouts on the qq radar, because of really strange fits we will create.
Gallente- two shields is about 220 an either 720 armor , 940 HP shotgunner runs 7.17 220 shields 4 kincats runs 11.11 with 370 HP .
Caldari- rail rifle 3 complex damage mods a shield an two or one armor plates
Min- 3 kins running 11.40 one shield 2x damage on a sg
Plus if we had two equip, then you got a scout running over 11 with 10 live remotes an core nades an a md like sinbotto lol, or Mr.Musturd runnin 10.38 with 400 stamina the Qq rs will cry.
So yea I think we need 6 slots an two equip but I'm almost positive ccp doesn't want scouts to do as well as they did in chrome ever again, so I think the AMAR scout is in a great deal of risk because unless they make scouts 6 slots the amar scout is going to steal the min scouts place as worst suit in the game |

When caldari scouts do come out ill have to debate finishing my skills into gallente or spec into caldari. I like my gallente scout suit but Im loyal to caldari. I guess it depends on scan profile and range to me. Playstyle suggests that suit.
I do plan on getting at least 1 level into the rail rifles to play with them a bit. I need a solid ranged build that doesn't use the scrambler for my scout. Overheating hurts with that thing when you only have 80 shields 149 armor...

Part of me really wants to see these in 1.7, but I'm very concerned that they've not posted any details yet. I would hope they would take our feedback into consideration before finalizing any decisions. At this point it would be WAY too late to do so with the scout suits.

Given the Amarrian's conventions toward dropsuit design namely their logi I think that the Amarr scout will be like a somewhat faster but somewhat squishier assault that focuses on fast precision attacks and disruption tactics like the scalpel to the AK.O's spear |

Not nescessarily, you can add more precision modules and be able to passively scan every suit. The proto Gallente with only 1 high, cannot detect other proto scouts even with a complex precision enhancer equipped. You could have both precision enhancers and shield extenders or damage mods equipped with 4 high slots. The low could be used for dampening to beat proto scanners or range amplification. You would be a beast at alpha damage with 3 complex mods, something my gk.0 will never be able to do. |

Probably not. Considering the issues with the cal logi and the fact that they actually made changes to the range rifle based on player feedback one would imagine CCP would give some advanced notice of what the new suits would be like, at least the slot layout if not all the stats.
Then again, 1.7 is like some hush-hush "it's big but we won't tell you how big wink wink" mega secret maybe it's their little Steve Jobs-esque one last thing to drop into it. Guess we'll have to wait until SoxFour finishes his magnum opus to find out.

If CCP was consistently hitting it out of the park with their releases, then the secrecy might be justified (as it was in Steve Jobs' case). While DUST has been improving its engine every patch, balance-related issues are often very poorly handled. I don't have much confidence in CCP's ability to nail the scout slot and bonus configurations the first time without any player input. Being secret in this case really isn't cute. They need as much feedback as they can get.
