Give everything a set timer for how long it can be deployed for.
Example.: Militia and STD gear can remain on the field for 3 minutes. Avd gear can stay on the field for 4 minutes Proto gear can stay on the field for 5 minutes.
Or give everything a 4 minute timer, and only have certain types of equipment longer field time. Once the deployed equipment is nearing its end, its icon will begin to blink on the map for the last minute of its life, then it'll just explode.

The far easier solution is to limit players to only being able to deploy one tier of equipment at a time. Meaning only one nanohive/uplink/etc., though equipment that allows for more than one of the same kind to be deployed simultaneously would still be able to do so (say, two of the same uplinks.)
This would bring an end to creating three logi suits with different tiered equipment and swapping them out to spam equipment.

I'd say it penalises uplinks quite severely, as they would expire before the respawn counter is used up - unless it was a particularly bloody battle!
I think the problem is that many of them can be deployed in proximity of each other, so solutions would tend to lean towards things like inability to place them near CRU's, null points and other mobile spawn points. Whether this is viable from a techincal standpoint is yet to be seen. You could place a limit on the number of them on the field at once (much like vehicles) but then this would introduce other issues.

better to just give a global maximum per character like 2-3 uplinks and 4-6 hives no matter what variety of different links or hives you're using, when you try to deploy more your first one pops.
I'd go with the higher numbers 3 links and 6 hives, so you can use the max potential provided by fitting both proto triage and ammo hives or equipping 2 lots of uplinks, but I think 3 is plenty for uplinks cos they're spammed too much and just thrown around in stupid places. |

I think if you switch suits and you do not have that tier of equipment it goes *poof*.
So if you run PRO uplinks and switch to a more combat effective suit all those uplinks you dropped are gone.
This way you have dedicated spawners, nanohives, etc but cannot clutter up the battlefield. |

People complain about the proliferation of uplinks until the few their side has get destroyed or camped and they end up redlined. |

That's down to your team ... you can't say 1 person should be able to provide the means to spawn anywhere ... if you want to use that as a battle plan, then equip lots of your team with uplinks ... my point of a global maximum per person wouldn't stop a teams ability to avoid being redlined ... but what it would do is make people a bit more considerate about where they put them. |

I still for the life of me can't understand why using uplinks to gain advantage is considered spam. |
