Ideally, the Logi should be a "jack-of-all-trades, master of none"--it should be able to perform multiple roles at once (combat, scouting, healing, etc.) without being better than the suits designed for specific roles. Life is killing me.

The Logi class would die from this nerf. I agree that this is a stupid thing to do - limiting to a sidearm is asinine. That said, your comment is willfully and stubbornly naive as well. You are not limited to running Logi only, ever, just like I am not limited to running assualt only. Use a suit and fitting that is customized to how you want to play at a given time. Chivalry is not dead, but many who practiced it are.

I choosed Logi suits to be Medical support but also SUPPORT FIRE. And for that i choosed Amarr Logi which is the Combat Logi able to bring support fire. I never lied on what i choose i don't see why i should be blame.

I get plenty of range out of it.

Nerfing the Logi by removing the Light Weapon slot will create more problems than people think and quite frankly it's not a very innovative solution to the problem. They want to nerf it but are so blinded by their dislike of it that they want to nerf it without consideration. Plus we all know that they just want to turn it into free kills. The Logi suit bonus, the built-in rep bonus is very support oriented because it keeps the logi alive so they can do their job. The best all round solution is a CPU/PG nerf on the Logistics suits with part of the logi bonus becoming the current GalLogi bonus adjusted to be 10% reduction to CPU/PG per level to equipment so that the CPU/PG reduction on the suit would be enough so that if you leave off equipment you wouldn't be much better than an assault. Couple this by giving Assault suits a 2% damage bonus per level while rolling back the 10% damage buff on light weapons given at the start of Uprising. This would be a good place to start. This sidearm only Logi stupidity needs to stop. Any changes need to change how the suit is used. If you make it so Logis only carry sidearms you'll start wondering why SMGs on Logi Suits are shredding you up close and you still can't shoot through their armour. Author of Umbra's Short Stories. Damn, first time Amarr logi got called "the most powerful dropsuit" Back in the day it was considered one of the worst suits in the game but I guess that has changed quite radically :D Amarr logi is supposed to be the frontlines logi that can fight alongside the assaults and providing them support, fire and logistic, and limiting us to a sidearm would kinda kill the whole concept for Amarr logistic frame don't you think? T_T actually yeah i would liek that. going back to how i was before my proto gal slayer logi would be a nice change. i've been building an alt up and runnign std gal logi and it's been an amazing change. i have adv gal assault, adv commando suit if i wanna use my light weapons. will i miss my slayer logi? hell yeah! but a logi is supposed to be at teh back of the herd repping folk, dropping ammo and scanning like a maniac and if someone happens to get close you pull out your sidearm and put a few rounds into them. also an M209 assault SMG is pretty nasty with sharpshooter 5. i've taken someone down from about 45-50m away with one. sure it was a scout but again. thats the idea. the logis are not supposed to be killers. we're support, its just that ccp ballsed up and made them too powerful without realizing it. being a logi shouldn't be about glory in kills but knowing your team won because you kept your squad together and laughing when you get 2 OB's by yourself and go 0/4

How does a 5 point a second repair rate help a frontline fighter? It's on the Logi for a reason, because he can heal everyone but himself. He heals YOU, and has a minor repair built in so he doesn't keel over due to bloodloss from your first fight. For the math, 5HP a second is 4 times slower than shield's native rep. It is enough to get you to survive one whole bullet more after eight seconds of hiding. It is meant for units that don't see much combat, like Logistics suits are supposed to be played. If you want that skill on Assaults, you are mildly braindead. Shields as Weapons
