Okay so I finally spec'd into complex shield extenders after having held off for so long and spending my sp on other useless stuff....
Why did I wait so long... They're lovely!!!
Okay, so my question is... who uses them on advanced suits and do you use a cpu module to squeeze out more shields or do you squeeze as much armor and shields combined that you can into the suit?
Today I ran with two complex shield extenders and my third slot empty (due to lack of CPU) which is the equivalent of four enhanced extenders but for less CPU and obviously my advanced suit doesn't have four slots...
Down armor, up shields! It seems to make a lot of difference to my survivability, same combined HP (approximately 750) but now I'm lasting longer and I'm a bit quicker around the battle field!
I'm a Minmatar Logi by the way in case anyone wants to share their killer fittings with this suit as I'm now feeling much more flexibility and options with these complex modules available
Cheers! |

Thanks for the tips and the input guys, I appreciate it! And regarding the Imp Scr, I've been hit plenty by it and I know 700/800 combined HP isn't anything that great against the AR or the Scrambler these days and the Imperials are gonna kill me fast whether I'm high on armor or shields but they're not that bothersome as they're not that frequent, it's the AR spamming that I'm trying to counter the best that I possibly can.
This is my current fit -
Logi M/1 Series (level 4)
- Exo 5 MD
- 2 x Complex shield extenders
- Basic shield recharger
- 1 enhanced armor plate
- 2 basic armor plates
- Standard Nanohive
- Remote Explosives
- Quantum scanner (advanced, not proto)
It's the CPU and PG limit that's got me right now but I'm still not up to 5 on any of the CPU/PG skills so time to work on those I guess! I'm currently running 323/65 CPU and PG respectively.
Thanks for the input!

(I'm also a minmatar logi btw)
The thing is, with minmatar logi it's really hard to get a decent shield fitting, but I usually just run both extenders and plates because my survivability is pretty decent that way.
Hey Shayz, thanks for the links and for the time you spend on making your vids.. I personally always feel it's a waste to leave equipment slots open on a logi but I guess it definitely gives you more flexibility, I'll maybe try it out later although I always feel naked without my scanner and my remote explosives!
Just a quick question, the proto suit you show at the end of your advanced fittings video, how much is the restock on that suit and how do you fair against AR's or scramblers with the incredibly low TTK with that setup?
Thanks again dude! |

I run Caldari assault, and I can honestly say, shield tanking is totally worthless since uprising started. My advanced suit has 407 shield and it drops super fast when getting shot by almost any weapon. Until they properly rebalance shields in this game, shield extenders are close to irrelevant.Armor tanking has been more than proven the way to go now.
So expanding on this, as far as you're concerned due to the current AR and scrambler situation, It'd be far more beneficial to run only one complex shield extender and maybe a couple of damage modifiers or something similar? |

Fit fitting mods (e.g. CPU) in your lows if you're shield tanking and get something in there, even if it's a shield energizer/recharger... No point leaving a slot empty, ever (Unless you run logiassault with no equipment )
But it was still a 33 (I know, one bullet from an exile ) point gain over what I previously had with 3 x enhanced plates and I'd prefer to use the 3 slots for basic armor plates rather than only two plates and a cpu upgrade... I have all the equipment I want filled up, I was just a few cpu shy of being able to put something in there and today I don't have that problem as I've just skilled up another level in electronics so squeezed another 15 cpu out of the suit :D
Thanks for the tips! :D |

Arkena Wyrnspire wrote:I recommend stacking two of the things and a damage mod on that suit. Put a CPU mod in your lows if you're struggling for CPU. In the remaining low slots put on a couple of basic plates. They'll barely regen but it's better than nothing.
I'm a logi and I use a mass driver religiously and the enhanced damage mods (only have level 3 so far) don't seem to help much with that, I did fit the damage mods onto my assault fittings though and it seemed to help a bit today but as I'm really bad with an AR (like exaggeratedly bad!) it still doesn't help me much even though I have proficiency 3 and sharpshooter 4 etc.
The CPU modules just seem like an incredible waste of a slot to me and I feel that there are so many more options available before resorting to that, such as using lower tier equipment...
Thanks for the input |
