IWS all im trying to do is ensure the community is treated respectfully and can safely spend their cash in this game.. I don't disagree that they can do this... but how is removing items purchased you thought were permanent?

The only reason we thought they were permanent is cause ccp said they were.

Again I get the legal aspect, I don't really own any of this stuff I buy a license to use it. but shouldn't they have been a bit more straight with us? Instead of posting we would keep them and then removing them without an acknowledgement they went back on their word?

This in and of itself is joke-worthy.

IWS, you are a man of many talents, but basic social and conversational skills are not among them. You started this thread with the intent to 'troll', but like so many others on the forums having no conceptual understanding of what trolling truly is and merely make yourself out to look like an idiot while enraging both those who oppose and support your point.

As a council, we're supposed to hold ourselves to a higher standard. This is not to say that we're better than anyone else, but we're /expected/ to maintain a certain air of humility and civility. While we are not forbidden to troll or be rude, it is extremely poor taste to do so, especially regarding such a 'hot button' issue when people are legitimately upset about CCP handling an issue in a poor fashion. Especially when considering that many people (even if they are mistaken) value the word of the CPM as if it was something relayed to them by CCP or that a 'troll post' is what the CPM is relaying to CCP on the behalf the of the players.

The BPO "Issue" is a very real one, and while some people (xLuca, I'm looking at you) need to seriously tone down their posting and stop making new threads.... IWS you need to kindly shut up and take your poor attitude elsewhere. I fully believe that removing BPO's is the right call. However I believe that CCP handled this very poorly and strongly cautioned them beforehand that a simple refund would provoke an aggressive response because the perceived value of the purchase needs to be preserved.

At the very least, CCP will not touch -any- other BPO's in people's inventories without coming up with a solid plan to preserve the value of the purchase.


As my Addendum to the initial quote : IWS, if you think you're saving the community from itself... I suppose it is my job to save the community (and CCP) from you.

Seems strange to me.

CCP is taking away modules, even giving you aur for them, which is what you used to buy them in the first place.

Most of these things were useless, trash items. So you drive around in a milita tank bpo, which is kinda bullshit anyways, but you pop in seconds to swarms, so cool. But for items that really held no huge advantage in battle, the hate seems a bit much.

They imbalance the game. Tanking is one of the most expensive roles. Yet if I had me a bpo tank, I could drive them all day without a care for losing them. And I could rack up some wp off turrets and be making bank. So while actually somewhat useless, they can be used to rack up quick WP, not to mention games lacking in AV.

Everyone loves the idea, nothing is free, until they start taking your free stuff away.
BPO's were a bad decision on CCP's part and I can't help but feel these people crying bloody murder, have a point. They would expect you to give them new BPOs for the new modules to use. Which seems fair. Yet still, I see these sort of things bad overall for a universe that is all about Nothing being free.

And I think a lot of this may be due to the state of dust, a lot of people are unhappy. Now you are taking their BPOs from them.
Now they are super unhappy customers, who feel cheated. They don't want aur, nothing on the market compares to those bpos. It's your customers getting the short end of the stick.

Overall it is necessary, but I don't know if aur really cuts it. Maybe some unique suits or something eh. Or add some customization options for buy on the market. Aur is no doubt useless to the people who own these bpos.

I think the problem dude is that a Community Manager distinctively said that BPO's already purchased would not be removed.

Then a couple weeks later, CCP states that some BPO's purchased will be removed and refunded AUR.

You cannot say that kind of **** without expecting a PR $hitstorm.

In all fairness there really isn't much in this game that is worth spending money on.
Like i have said on other posts. I dont ever buy boosters because i gain SP's while i sleep. Heck i take breaks from this game for weeks at a time because the problems in the game and lack of content is very boring. Right now i am in such a break its been about a week now since i last logged into dust i might even wait till 1.7 comes out.

Giving me aurum for my BPO's just won't work I still have several thousand aurum sitting around that i have had for months now because there isnt anything in game i find worthy of buying.

Yes most real world stores only accept a return for an item after say 30 days. Most stores also would not be directly responsible for making the item useless.

At this point I would like to personally thank you for being a CPM and representing the paying player base......after all isn't that your job? Oh but you weren't elected to your position by the mob or a vote by the paying customer player base.....

One more thing. Thanks for doing a great job as CPM and letting us know that they would be getting rid of BPO"S before we bought them.....Stellar performance, and keep up the good work.
