EVE is different
You passive skill up, you dont buy boosters, you dont have SP events, when they test changes they test them out on SISI in which you can download and test out for yourself, they talk about the changes in great detail and let the playerbase know whats happening
In DUST we are still in a beta, everything gets changed on a whim, we dont know whats in each patch let alone what is going to be changed, we can only skill up based on what we know about the skills/weapons/suits/vehicles, we never know what is going to come in the future
I planned for the vehicle tree, i worked it out how much SP it would take for me to spec it out, i planned ahead
Once i specced out my vehicle tree i started planning for the pilot suits, they never arrived but i managed to save up 8mil SP
No more vehicles were arriving and the vehicle patch was way off in the future, could have been a year maybe more so i spent my SP on a secondary role
Now CCP has changed the amount of SP needed to be a vehicle specialist by a factor of 3, the amount i have now will not cover what i need in 1.7
I need my SP out of infantry to be even close to what i can do now in 1.7
I planned ahead and finished the vehicle tree, now CCP has changed the SP amount so its more of a sink so i now need even more SP to spec out in the vehicle tree
I made my choices, i planned it out and finished the vehicle tree which made me competitve in PC, im happy with my SP in where they are, but between vehicles and infantry i want to go full vehicles and the amount of SP needed in 1.7 has gone up by a factor of 3
In 1.6 i had access to every mod and vehicle (not lolenforcers)
Now i need to put every SP i have into vehicles because they changed it all around and increased the amount needed
If i had know this would have happened 6months ago i would have saved every SP and not gone into dropsuits or weapons at all and would have stuck to using BPO fits |

If i had know this would have happened 6months ago i would have saved every SP and not gone into dropsuits or weapons at all and would have stuck to using BPO fits We lose our booster when the pod gets popped. We have to train a skill not dump SP into it. The test server helps but with only a peek of 600 players, I don't think that they got a lot of real time, in game testing done. One of the spikes was to test fleet stuff and everyone was invited and still only 600. I was one but I played with an interceptor for 10 minutes and haven't been back. DUST is not a beta, they officially released the game and that in itself makes it not a beta. They released the game and it is how it is, not a beta. Changed on a whim is incorrect, playing the game created unforeseen problems and changes come from feedback and data pulled from games played. We don't know what is going to come in the future of EVE and in DUST they tell us what is in the patch if it changes game play. Because CCP adds things to fill out the skill tree for vehicle (which most pilots complained was incomplete) you are mad that it takes more to skill up? You can't have it both ways. You can't want more stuff and then when they give it complain that it is the wrong kind of more? Did you think that the new items would be skill less? If you knew this was going to happen six months ago it wouldn't be called the future. DUST514 and EVE is about a dynamic changing universe, you seem to want a static skill set that doesn't get updated. That isn't how CCP works.
If you get popped you may lose implants, if you have no implants you lose nothing
Test server is still there for you to test things, DUST doesnt have one
DUST is a beta, it still doesnt have finished game modes and not even half the racial gear is out and PVE/trading seems to be a long way off, its a beta
What did they add? more SP sinks while taking away a total of 8 vehicles currently and also mods such as passive resistances and hull mods etc
No i didnt, 6months ago vehicles were getting nerfed the **** out of while AV was getting buffed, the 'vehicle' patch kept getting pushed back, pilot suits never turned up, Blam was still in charge of vehicles 6months ago
I played by CCP rules, i saved my SP and put it where i wanted to without a regret since i didnt go into lolenforcers and now CCP decided to change the goalposts by extending the SP grind by a factor of 3 meaning i need more SP in 1.7 to get where i am now and the part respec wont even get me close |

No one forces you to buy any boosters. Testing doesn't' really happen on the test server like people think. Many test server visitors are testing fits because any item can be bought for 100 ISK, they train for tourneys and try to max out everything on a ship. They are not there to test out balance. When there is a large test it is because CCP asked people to show up. Then less than 1000 players show up. I don't think they get much balance data from that test. Testing in a controlled environment doesn't always accurately reflect real world (I know it is a game) performance. This is how the game goes. There will only be more skills and SP sinks added. Repecs are not good for the game and should be avoided at all costs. Removed skills should be refunded but that is it.
I keep hearing that they are not good but currently every positive that can be gained by a respec outweighs the negatives everytime
Take the partial respec
Vehicle users get all SP back out of vehicles, i can do full tryhard mode in infantry
AV users do not get this option, no vehicles no use for AV
Infantry who wanted to go vehicles but didnt because they are crap and can get 3 shotted by invisible swarms are also screwed, they may think great that vehicle tree looks good now and AV seem more balanced let me grind 1 whole year to get enough SP to get into the role
Your FOTM players that you are so worried about will always skill into FOTM, cal logi was the 1st and flaylocks, now its gal logi and SCR rifles and when they are balanced/fixed they will jump on the next OP thing
I planned my SP tree, i stuck to it and maxed it out and because nothing was coming for like a year and my tanks kept getting nerfed i skilled into a secondary role but CCP made the SP sink even larger and now i need all my SP to get even close to where i am now in 1.7
I played the game and played by the rules, ive stuck with a dead/dying class for a hell of a long time against OP AV and CCP finally wake up but also move the goalposts and change the rules meaning it will take me 6more months to get to the same place i am now and that is not including pilot suits and all racial/new vehicles with turrets if they arrive
Full respec is fair and logical for a game in beta whwere things change on a whim and anyones playstyle can be ruined by a patch
