See, this I more or less can get behind. Now granted, I do expect a AUR refund, which we are getting, if they remove any BPOs that were bought with AUR.
What I am somewhat concerned about is what if CCP decides to take out the BPOs that came with the Mercenary/Elite/Veteran packs? These do not have an AUR value, I bought 2 different Merc packs and the Veteran packs specifically for those BPOs. Any other items/AUR/whatever was just extra gravy, and I enjoy the game and I wanted to help support the game. It was a win win IMO.
I've seen countless suggestions that CCP make BPOs more EVE like, and tie it in with PVE, some of these suggestions are really quite good and I'd be down with that. But what if CCP decides to give me AUR for my dragonfly suits/other BPOs? I wouldn't really be happy with that unless there were BPOs back on the market.
Heck, they even went and promoted the BPOs, saying that they were going to be removed from the market, so buy 'em while they were still there, then they hit us with they are removing some of them. That more than anything else came as a low blow. You cannot expect me to believe that CCP wasn't planning to remove the vehicle BPOs by that time. If they had said, "Buy BPOs, but not these 'cause they're going to be removed from the game" I'd be good with that, but they didn't.
Again, I will say I'm more or less ok with how CCP is handling this, though I don't exactly like it. My main concern is what about BPOs that were NOT bought with AUR.
Because I'll be rather frank, unless it was a cool vanity item to chill out in the MCC with, I most likely wouldn't buy any of the packs.
And then how are they going to reimburse me? AUR? Right now there are now AUR items on the marketplace that I'd buy. Boosters wouldn't be bad exactly, but I play scout, and I have 16+mil SP right now, most of which is invested in my core skills. I only need another ~800,000 or less to finish out the core skills that I need/want and then I move onto weaponry which I have hardly touched in comparison. It won't take me long to finalize my play styles and what weaponry I want to specialize in once I start playing with the different weapons more. Which is a very long winded way of saying that while I could spend the AUR on boosters, I'm not terribly interested in boosters right now. I'm infantry, vehicle skills aren't going to get touched for awhile yet.
Anyways, that is my main problem, or main cause of concern, with this whole BPO refund. |
