Then tomorrow play DUST as a logi, only use a pistol and your equipment.
The day after tomorrow (I know you probably get the point by now) Play DUST, play logi, use ONLY your pistol and equipment.
Do you think a scram pistol is the only sidearm? SMGs are amazing sidearms that, yes in fact, I have used without a light weapon before. I didn't wrack up a 10.00 K/d that match, but I held my own just fine. Skill wise I don't think I have more than IV in any SMG skills.
As a logi you shouldn't be able to carry 3+ pieces of equipment, have an above average tank, AND fit a light weapon. Sorry if that hurts your feels. Maybe when CCP gets around to revamping the skills (so patch 2.5 - 3.0) they will give logistics some kind of role bonus with sidearms. I don't doubt that we will get some new sidearms soon(TM). |

Korvin Lomont wrote:By this logic remove the equipment slot from Assaults as well. Assault should not be able to carry a light weapon, a sidearm and be able use equipment.
STD, ADV, or PRO Assault gets 1 equipment slot; meanwhile, Gallente and Minmatar PRO logi suits can have 4 equipment slots.
Whatever logic you are using is terribly flawed. |

I'd rather nerf them by taking away their light weapon slot. They will still be able to defend themselves without occupying other dropsuits' roles.
That being said, I feel like logi dropsuits would be greatly served with some kind of role bonus... repair gun range, reduction to nanoinjector PG/CPU, radius increase for nanohives, repair gun efficacy, you get the idea.
Make them great at being logistics and be supbar (but not useless) at dealing damage instead of being great at two roles. |
