It's what makes this game unique. Some of us actually value that this game isn't another CoD or BF.
The only thing that would constitute a respec is dramatic changes to skills (such as 1.7 is bringing, and only then it's to vehicles) or, in my own opinion, the release of all racial variants of suits and vehicles, which hopefully can be done all at once for one final respec and no more.

CCP Needs to give us a respec. EVERYONE How can they hope for us to ''carefully plan'' our SP investment when they keep changing EVERYTHING?
I want to be an amarr scout. So what? in order to play competivly i need to or EITHER PLAY MLT all the time or not play at all until they are released? Or spend my SP (as i already did) in OTHER racial suits and when amarr scouts are released Grind for 3-4 months to get an amarr protoscout ?

This is a common way of thinking that is sadly mistaken. Noobs are f*d nevertheless because they are spending SP in stuff they want to test out. People like me willbe able to play to a true level,so im NOT scared of ANYONE with a general respec. If i do good playing SOLO,vs Full corp squads,with ADV-BASIC gear, i can smell what i will do with proto gear and a perfect skill set.....
GÖª Newbs geta chance to reinves in stuff they ACTUALLY want. GÖª People with f*d Skill books like the soon to come Vehicle drivers,pilots and AV, or people already f*d like SCOUTS,commandos and Heavies, have a chance to redo their skill set for more effective results.
I dont know why so many people are so scared about playing Vs players on an equal ground.... |

I'd actually be a bit troubled to respec. At one point in time, I could of used it, but not now. I'm not against it though. Would just mean me putting everything just about where it is now.
I also just came from a game where I'm reassured about how I skilled. I had gotten one of my greatest deaths in it. I like to share stories, so get story raped.
I was being a logibro in an Ambush game (I was somehow thrown into there while trying to join a FW game) and I was doing my duties and whatnot, resupplying, patching up, spawn uplinking. I'm up near the front, keeping people from plopping over from all the hellish gunfire from above (you see, they were at the height advantage the entire game, so we were fighting to the top). So, I die twice from Plasma Rifle, blah blah blah. Keep doing what I was doing. Near the end of the game, some ************ in a dropship comes flying over to us, hits a rock with his top, ROLLS, and splats me with his top. I'm not even mad. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I ended the game at a 0-3, 1980 WP. We lost, but I thought it was great. Reminded me of old logibro times.
On that note, good work, Grease Spillett, with keeping them at bay with the Duvolle Tactical. And people keep saying it sucks.

The issue is that we need a complete wipe once all the racial content is added. Currently there are vast differences in the amount of money as beta players kept all their money and probably had less expenses during the beta. Balancing between experienced players (and all players in general) having too much money and too little money is impossible when major content is missing; and properly calculating and balancing money sinks is impossible when there are so vast differences in savings. A money sink for a player with 100 million would be instant poverty to a player with two million.
This game really is more of an extended open beta than the actual full release. So I think that everyone should have their money reset and maybe their stats as well once CCP gets all the infantry weapons (maybe wait until all the standard racial vehicles and weapons are out.) A lot of players have more sp and money than they know what to do with or could ever spend. So, while it will be unpopular, I honestly think a complete reset for everyone is fair. That way everyone starts with a clean slate, and though people will be unhappy about repeating what they have already done, eventually every player will rise to where their ability puts them. |

Medium frame users will at worst take 2 weeks to get to prof 3, or 4 with boosters on which ever of the new rifles appears dominant. Not the end of the world.
Swarms got nerfed, but they are scrubs anyway, so F them. AV nades as well, who cares.
FG is pretty much intact right now.
Scouts and heavies will always be last at the table. They don't need a respec until the suits finally come out. Just refund their heavy or scout dropsuit SP and call it a day.
Tanks, yes we are getting some serious SP sinks, but at the same time, I am getting several million back from skills I didn't really need, so I should come out of it with two built turrets and some very solid vehicle skills.
You just want a total respec so you can dump everything into vehicles.
Looks like all that SP into enforcers is going to work out well for me.

I've saved up close to 2,5 mil SP right now in hopes of new heavy suits coming... SOON... it keeps growing each week while I still sit with the same old heavy with the same olf forge/hmg... but I'd love a respec once the new heavies launch, got a couple of mil into LAVs, Dropships, Logis and Scouts I'd love to put into the new heavies/heavy weapons...

I got a fugly stick ready, I need to hear the full tree plan first before I start swinging, remember I am a teiricide proponent and don't like the current 'progression' of suits.
if it where up to me i'd give everyone prototype slot layout but use the skills to adjust fitting (we're talking like 10-15% fitting bonuses) to adjust what sort of level of equipment the suit or vehicle could fit. Then as needed spread the love out on the fitting skills like 1-5% on dropsuit command 5-10% on the specific suit.
Suits and vehicles would then have localized bonuses that are not fitting based (unless its a role thing) like sensors, reppers ect ect.
Neo suits and vehicles would then shift to non-bonusable preset fittings or perks (but not both) equal to as if you trained a set of skill sot a certain level.
This would allow base suit classes to gain multiple forms (and models as well) so for example lets say they have two medium suits, one medium suit harkens to the like of a baby assault, while the other harkens to the like of a baby logi. Both use the medium suit bonus but both have different slot approaches and are very flexible on how the bonus local to the suit plays out. Where as the specialist suits are very darn specific. Like you can have two different logis the repair type of logi and the support type logi. Or two types of assaults one more rifle like and maybe the other has two grenade slots or something.

You cannot compare Tech II items to dust content, they are two vastly different beasts.

Not ready yet, they're busy gap filling but I am trying to get the opinion now because you and I both know if they go too far before they give it thought they're going to make a lot of work for themselves.

All skills listed are useful elsewhere. You cannot compare Tech II items to dust content, they are two vastly different beasts. Well.. thats about 8 skills off the list then

Get rid of all tiers.
No proto assault, advanced assault or standard assault. Only Assault. Then our suits will become better through the use of skills.
This would also affect weapons.
Note*: Vehicles are already like this.

Like you can have two different logis the repair type of logi and the support type logi. Or two types of assaults one more rifle like and maybe the other has two grenade slots or something.
