Sooo, looking at the new Assault Dropship stats, I have a few thoughts and opinions, and I would like to get some feedback from other pilots and vehicle aficionados.
1. Python vs Incubus
So obviously the Incubus has more HP. But does it really? Lets take a look. Assuming explosives still do 20% more to armor. Linky I did not include forge guns in these calcs. But you can assume your own numbers, they do 10% more to armor.
Incubus Total HP: 3312 Shield: 850 Armor: 2382
Lets take a look at the real HP vs swarms and AV grenades (explosive).
Shield: (850 x .2) + 850 = 1020 Armor 2382 - (2382 x .2) = 1905.6
Armor + Shield = 2925.6 total HP vs swarms and AV grenades
Python Total HP: 2508 Shield: 1548 Armor: 960
Real HP vs swarms and AV grenades (explosive).
Shield: (1548 x .2) + 1548 = 1857.6 Armor: 960 - (960 x.2) = 768
Armor + Shield = 2625.6 total HP vs swarms
As we can see, the Incubus only has about 10% more real HP vs explosives. Is it worth it? Python has the benefit of extremely buffed shield recharge rates, while the incubus has to rely on passive armor repairers. Python is faster and more maneuverable, and doesn't have to sacrifice any of its slots in order to repair itself. Not to mention, the Python skill gives bonuses to Missile Turrets, arguably the only turrets used for the gun on an ADS. Missile turrets are also getting a huge buff in splash damage.
Looking at the new stats for turrets and and dropships, in my opinion, Python will be far superior to the Incubus, which by my eye looks extremely gimped.
Thoughts? Comments? Shoot

-Pythons get passive reps w/o a module, meaning they don't have to waste a slot on repairers (a 4 sec delay at 224/sec, that's incredible).
-Active shield resists are incredible now; stacking 2 and staggering them give 1min of 40% resist with a 15sec cool down in between.
-Shield boosters now give and instantaneous 900 shield hp w/ a 30sec cool down (max skills) (coupled with a shield resist, that's an hp boost of 1260hp)
I've yet to look into fitting an Incubus on the fitting tool, so I'll look at that soon enough. All I know is that, as a Python pilot, I'm very excited for the new build. Though, I would like to see what Amarr and Minmatar dropships will look like. Only time will tell.
Yeah dude, Python seems like the way to go. The only benefit I see that the Incubus gets is the 10% more HP over the Python But honestly it doesn't seem worth it considering all the benefits you get out on a Python.
Unless there are more benefits to using an Incubus? I don't know I can't really think or see any. |

After Some Math : Using a Complex Light Armor Repper, Complex 60mm Armor Plates, and a complex armor hardener + a Complex afterburner and a Proto Turret The Incubus can reach 3046 HP without the hardener and 4264 WITH the hardener
Did you factor in the 20% damage bonus to shields?

Nope because im Talking about the total HP but i forgot to add the Shields :D SO AFter the math after the math the Incubus Max HP with that fit and with Hardener on is 5214, what i find a PRETTY DECENT NUMBER. The incubus wont be the hit n run vehicle it is now, or that the python will eventually be, but it will last longer on focused battles
Using the equivalent fitting for the Python (1 complex shield extender, complex shield hardener) that puts the Python to 3201.6 real hp vs explosives with no hardener and 4175.04 real Hp with the hardener on. Just some more info to munch on. I'm just wondering if that extra HP on the incubus is worth all of its shortcomings. You have to remember that you're going to have to sacrifice a plate for a repper, in the end thats going to lower your HP by quite a bit compared to a fully fit Python

EternalRMG wrote:I dont think mIssiles would be that OP, The Mag size is Pretty Small
Mag size is int that small considering they basically doubled the splash damage on small missiles. Now it will take 1 shot to kill most infantry instead of 2. And reload time is 4 seconds with no skill bonuses. Sounds reaaally good to me |

Harpyja wrote:I don't know if someone mentioned this earlier in this thread but your calculations are wrong.
To get EHP values, you take HP / damage multiplier. So for shields, it's shield HP / .8 (didn't explosives do 130% to armor and 70% to shield?)
So by your logic, if I have 50% resistance and 100 HP being affected by it, my EHP will be 200?
That doesn't seem right bro
If I get hit with 100 damage, and I resist 50% of that damage, I will take 50 damage. |

Yeah, they both lost a slot, but don't forget that fitting side turrets will now be optional, so that saves a lot of pg/cpu for more intense modules (aka hardeners) |

The blaster Melt Infatry really Fast, and Railguns can do more DMG per MAG than Missiles somebody hasn't used a small blaster since 1.5 I suggest you go try gunning with one right now. And rest assured, it won't be fixed in 1.7 Trust me, ive used it and i suck with it, but ive seen many ADS Pilots go 15/0 WITH scattered Ion cannons I HOPE they get better, if they dont, ill have to kill infantry without the ROF Bonus And Also Incubus Can Fit DMG Mods without sacrificing Tank, which will be a deadly combo with small railguns and MIGHT Compensate the lack of ROF from Missile Turrets
Ahh, see I didnt think of that
Incubus can fit the dmg mod without sacrificing tank This could be deadly with small railgun turrets
