Do they run dry if you stand within their radius right after dropping them? Because it seems to me that if you stand on one right after dropping it, it only lasts a few pulses, rather than the full duration.
Is there some truth to that? |

They always last the full duration, but your nanohive is either militia or compact. Those have lower nanite counts and therefore last less time.
Grenades take up A TON of nanites as well. Compacts should last around 2 full reloads. But if you throw a grenade or 2, you can kiss having one reload good bye.

Each nanohive has a set amount of clusters. Militia have 24 clusters, compact has 25, standard nanohive has 36, and all others (except the Wiyrkomi triage) have 72.
A full grenade/remote restock costs 24 clusters. If you are carrying three grenades, that's 8 clusters per grenade. However, if you use militia grenades, it's 12 clusters per grenade since you are only carrying two. I believe that a full restock of proto explosives costs only 6 per unit (as you carry 4) but haven't confirmed this.
When you restock ammunition, ammo is given to you in cycles, depending on the replenishment rate of the nanohive. For the advanced K-2 hive, one cycle = 1 cluster, so 45 rds on an AR are replenished per cycle (15% of 300 rds, assuming you have not skilled into AR ammo capacity). However, if the replenish rate exceeds 15%, two clusters are used for each cycle. Note that this means that X-3 Quantum hives, with a replenish rate of 21%, actually give less total ammo than K-2s, although they do it at a faster rate.
If your ammo is full and you are shooting while standing on top of a nanohive, each partial resupply still consumes one cluster (regardless of replenish rate). So don't do this as it prematurely depletes your nanohive.
A nanohive only pops when all its clusters are consumed, it is destroyed, or the same hive is deployed by you elsewhere, exceeding the max number active at one time. There is no independent time limit on their operational duration, outside of the match timer. |

Boundless remotes restock @ 2 per cycle for 12 nanites (6 each). Your assumption still stands. |

Thanks for confirming IceShifter; it saves me from leveling them up to find out on my own :)
Fox Gaden, you're welcome to, but there's an even more informative thread on them floating around in General Discussions (search for Nanohive Alchemy). |
