I see people shifting from A to B a lot these days as far as corporations go, as much as it would seem like it it doesn't bother me particularly. However it does warm my heart when I see someone sticking through with a dying corporation right until the end. It really does say something about the impact of said corporation. This can be seen throughout Dust... The Seraphim boys stick together for the most part, Zion loyalists remain standing... but there are some others that truly die off. Do D3LTA force even exist anymore? I ask because I've seen northeantiv has left.. I figured that must be a sure sign of departure!
Anyway, who here in the war room can still say they've remained true to their corporation, or at least the foundations of it (E.g. the moving of the majority from one corp to another).
Just curious, as this game has done so much to pre-existing clans, both good and bad.
Or perhaps the better question is what do people look for in a corp? Do they look for wins, reputation, the people, the ISK?

Zion? Surprisingly I have seen a small handful of them remaining, perhaps 6-7? They are still out there!
SI's A-team are majorly The Rainbow Effect now, if you hadn't noticed. It's not all of them sure, but they are a fine example of what I am illustrating.
Indeed, but those ships can always be rebuilt. I joined this game because of the community aspect, I love it when people work together properly and not flee to the next best thing.

Great post, and here's a reply from my perspective. I joined STB as a Newberry back in Feb, randomly got crushed by one of their squads in the old Dust Bowl map(gee do I ever miss that one). And I said enoughs enough and applied. Months later, after many wars, lots of ass kicking and getting our ass kicked..I can honestly say ill never leave. We have had some defections, but that always happens when you have to many Chiefs not enough indians. They are always welcome back and for the most part we are all still in great relations.. We have only had like 3-5 band wagon jumpers that after a stressfull loss go running to the winning team. It just makes it more fun in PC when you see them on the other side. Our biggest loss comes from people leaving the game altogether due to lag in pcs and other games coming out. Most people in STB are not loyal due to isk..they are loyal because of the out of battle and on corp chat connections. Even tho QuickGloves is gone..everyone will always remember logging in on a Friday night and listening to him rant and rave wasted! Haha.

Honestly, I still think of myself as one of the Bloodwolves. I realize we weren't well known, but they were my first clan period, took me in when I sucked, and helped me become not such a noob. They closed shop on Dust and went back to Battlefield, and I'm pretty much one of two of the Wolves who didn't entirely quit dust, and I long for the day I can return once I get a ps4 and BF4. But alas, that is in the past, I'm with Pradox now, and I don't intend to leave unless the Wolves return, and even then, they've done a lot for me as well.

This. Seriously. I was in Zion when it first started and only a handful of it's original members remained back when I left in March. Even the Attorney General left I believe to join the imps, and he was a longstanding member. Derek Barnes is gone too.
It's sad but understandable that people leave their corps, especially when everyone they know and play with together have left the corp as well and all that's left is the corp name at the end of battles to remind you of the good times that are no more. Zion's leadership changed twice while I was in it. Now it's changed again. Everyone I knew and played with scattered to other corps. Eventually it gets to the point where a corp just isn't the corp is was before, regardless of whether or not it has the same name.

I have been with D.A.R.K L.E.G.I.O.N for 8, nearly 9 months now. Our leadership has not changed since I joined, with the exception of me becoming a director several months ago. Like any corp, we have suffered losses. People to lazy to build a strong foundation and put in the hard work to make a name for ourselves have left to already established corps, caving in to their temptations.
I love this corp and I'm in it for the long haul. Dust will be long gone before the Legion sees the end of its days. We are even staying to infiltrate other games such as Bf4 and GTA 5.

I didn't leave, I joined MHPD on contract, and am now back in Zion as CEO.
Zion is small, but its people are all committed to having fun playing Dust as a group. Even Shad gets on a couple of times a week.
Truthfully, the fail cascade after the first month of PC hit Zion very hard. The volume of people who left did so because it appeared as if Zion was rudderless, which it was for a time.
That we even survived at all is a testament to the group as a whole, and their willingness to deal with adversity rather than jump for a better boat.
Although I don't blame anyone for leaving, I have more respect for those who stayed.

Christ, you really are an angry little man aren't you?? Lmao, calm down fella. It's my opinion, I believe the 'spirit of SI' (For lack of a better term) lives on through The Rainbow Effect, and I don't think it's widely ridiculous to believe that. I understand they are two separate entities with two seperate ideals, but the crew remains together somewhat, as per my point.

Lol when I was noob and people started throwing around history, one of the main things I heard was this.
"Hellstorm was beast. But basically AE. is Hellstorm"
Or
"Imps aren't imps anymore, They're TP now"
Lol I get what the OP is trying to say. People establish clicks within corps and when it all comes crashing down, you have these clicks moving together.

The spirit of SI except the spirt is in rainbow effect aswell as other corps they hopped through on there way to rainbow so it got diluted
Frankly bottom line SI died and they didnt stick with it they hopped onto the next corp and the next and it will be repeated and maybe they will rejoin SI but only after others have done the hardwork and rebuilt it but if it dies again expect another jump to another corp and it begins again and gets repeated

I love the corp I am in. Even though I have been in this game for 3 mths I have been in Dust Uni, The Generals BC, The Generals, and now Death Firm.
I split off from The Generals with them because they were so great to run with.
I have made a home with Death Firm and cannot wait to see how we grow.
The only reasons I would leave *ANY* Corp would be if:
- The Corp gains a bad attitdue
- A lot of the people in the corp raged at every loss without coming up with a plan to counteract what happened
- If people were being purposefully persucuted due to race, sexual orientation, or religous views
My corp has alot of like minded people and we have a great time every night. Even though I can get a little crazy while drinking haha (hence why I have my crazy room and crazy thread ).

Its funny u say this not knowing anything about SI...
The real story is SI has broken into two groups...
You have the group of players who still love to play PC and love the push of competitive online gaming in this game... All of these guys and gals have gone to AE and are building a decently strong EU fighting force for AE...
Then you have the real strong players (in my opinion the strongest gun gamers from SI) who have either gotten bored with this game or are just trying to relax a little more who are coasting it out in RE... These guys ring on occassion and just squad up with each other for fun...
To be quite honest though the day Sha Karn logs back on and mails us saying he wants SI to come back together i think you would see 90% of these people drop what they are doing and support him... the only reason SI fell was because Sha got sick and couldnt be bothered to play the game... He is a great guy (a little bit of a tyrant but all good leaders are same as Kujo :P) and just need a break from fighting some of the most epic fights in this game so far... |

Most of the people I used to play with have moved on from Dust... My decision to join AE was due to the familiar names I saw in corp - names I've played with and against in the past. I joined Tritan industries and stayed with them when they got pirated and had to rebuild, stayed with them when the merge with Onslaught happened but when the CEO announced that TI wouldn't be playing DUST anymore I had the option of joining Onslaught or I might have gone for Bullet Cluster where most of the former Tritan guys went but I decided to look for a corp more active in my time zone and joined Forsaken Immortals.
The guys there are a great laugh and I really enjoying squading up with them, the alliance also has some great players to squad with so I cant really envision a scenario where I would want to leave FORIM to join another corp for anything other than being kicked for something or the corp dying (which seems highly unlikely at the moment.)
