Will you be specing into um, how do you think they're going to play once deployed, will you enjoy penetrating Amarrian armor with your long, hard, thick, artillery cannon (rounds) as much as I will? (Sorry couldn't help it)

Following the current fitting conventions, I expect something along the following.
Amarr HAV
2 High Slots
2 Low Slots
Equal Armor and Shields
Painfully slow but with very high base HP
Large Laser Turret to do DoT at medium range with heat buildup, possibly a damage range profile like Laser Rifles?
Minmatar HAV
3 High Slots
3 Low Slots
Similar Armor and Shields with slight emphasis on shields
Very fast but with very low base HP
Large Artillery Turret. Fires like a Mass Driver, massive direct damage, moderate splash damage. Small magazine with long reload times.

From the looks of it the Amarr LAV will have 1H & 1L with those slots it'll be better to just use the gal & cal ones....

Ill go straight minmatar.
I kinda halfway think they'll make caldari 4/1, minmatar 3/2, and amarr 1/3, with gallente being either 2/3 or 1/4
I also think the autocannon turret will be first, if not both then small autocannon, large arty.
Also as far as i know, minmatar can armor/shield tank and as such has even slots? Therefore you could go armor + damage, or shield+ speed.
Meh.

Rifter == Minmatar LAV

I can't really speculate on the hulls, but I will on the turrets.
Amarr
Beam Laser: medium to long range. Can operate similar to the laser rifle or put out constant DPS, which is less than a pulse laser. Heat equal to blaster
Pulse Laser: short to medium range. Essentially a blaster with slightly less DPS but more range. Heat equal to blaster
Minmatar
Artillery: long range. Direct damage, splash damage, and splash radius are higher than a railgun. Long intervals between shots make up for increased power. Perhaps least DPS of all the turrets. No heat.
Autocannon: short range. Perhaps equal to a blaster, except damage falloff starts sooner but increases at a much lower rate than blasters (optimal range is lower, but effective range is higher). Minimal heat, if any.

I'm looking forward to a speed-tanked Minmatar LAVs and Dropships. Though, a heavily tanked Amarr ADS would be interesting as well.

A Matari lav with a Gatling or auto-cannon turret sounds like too much fun . Drive through an area and just let it rip everything to shreds or maybe even a mass driver turret as well. Yeah I can see the QQ and rage if you have a speedy lav just bombarding rounds and then jetting before anything can catch it. Especially could you imagine the NOS on an already speedy vehicle
A Matari HAV with a freaking Howitzer as a turret firing explosive shells. I would be stacking ROF modules like crazy if i could. Sounds like a red line tank. Unless it will fire rapid explosive rounds like the Bushmaster cannon on the Bradley IFV/AFV.

Issue I see with that I Amarr equipment should be the juggernaut variant of whatever we are talking about, in this case tanks.
However the 2/2 slots lay out does not allow you to field anything particularly useful and IMO will be the weakest of the tanks if this comes to be the case.
Dual tanking an Amarr HAV will be pointless, however Shield tanking a Minmatar or Caldari HAV will be incredibly potent, meanwhile the Gallente HAV will be sitting pretty with 3 low slots....
In this sense if the Amarr do not have atleast 3 lows to tank armour....they will be outclassed and outgunned at nearly every turn with nothing to compensate for the loss of speed.
Not even high base armour will do since CCP expressly said that they want tank frames to be vvulnerable while module will make the tank. |
