I been playing before uprising an I use many types of weapons an I've noticed that their shields resist more than any suit in the game, yes they have more but they don't drop the same as any other suit, is it because caldari is favored by the developers? When the armor buff nerfed shields did they forget about them?

Right now, shields need a buff imho.
things will even out when Combat rifle comes out and they have less effectiveness vs shields but the armor tankers will feel the pain of projectile bonus vs armor. No more Gallente brick with Combat rifle.

You notice what I'm talking about tho? I can 2 or 3 shot a heavy with my scout sg fit or eat him with a smg but a advanced caldari can take 3-5 shots with two damage mods it's unreal |

Somethings up with you young clone.
Caldari needs a massive buff due to the massive nerf months ago. The CalLogi now has 1 less low slot in all suits because you have to fix a CPU module. The efficacy to shield extender modules was taken away and put onto the CalAssault but it was reduced from 5% per level to 2% per level.
The Gallente have risen due to the most recent armour buff so you will quite often see a gallente logi with nearly 800 armour, a duvolle assault rifle with 3 damage mods a scanner, ammo, needle, repper/uplink because they have 4 equipment slots.
You are misguided.

It's almost like you don't understand damage types and resistances. |

There was a time in this game where it was called Caldari 514.
You can still see severe scars from this from the fact that only the Caldari Warbarge is available and Gallente RDVs no longer exist.
Everything else is fine has somewhat balanced out between shield and armor.....except armor tankers have nothing to put in their highslots besides damage mods for those of us that refuse to do the putrid dual tanking that should not be in this game.
Shield modules have many more support skills and modules (even ones that support shields outside of highslots).
But I digress, this game was far worse with favoring shields than you might think it is now. |

These forums are always astonishing, just because armor got a buff (and a needed one) does not mean shields were nerfed. Shield tanking is as viable as before the only difference is now that amo tankers catched up and harder to kill than before.
Shield still regenerates very fast Shield still have no drawbacks in terms of penalties Shield still protects you way better against explosives (grenade spam!) Shield still gets destroyed by flux grenades while armor tankers die to locus grenades Shield tanking has not changed at all |

I Specced into Gallente months ago, like my Cal suit before I am now being called OP again. Either I can see the future or I have a bad habit of picking suits that are soon to be nerfed because every FOTM chaser ruins it.

Shields are garbage now. Speed doesnt really matter anymore bc ttk. shields are way wasier to deplete compared to armor. A triage nano are way more effective than regulaters |

To be fair, shields have 1 more supporting skill than armor. Trust me though shields rechargers barely count right now.
Armor is the better tank/repping in short term (averaging about 15 secs). Plus get alternative ways to heal. Armor draws a penalty.
Shields have more variability because there are more options in the low slots. Plus get rep advantage long term. Shields also have terrible scaling per tier.
Ideally I think shields want more tanking ability and armor more variability. Move some mods to highs and create better shield extenders.

You also have to take into account the popularity of weapons such as the Laser Rifle and Scrambler Rifle in many matches, which chew through shields very quickly.
Also, for some inexplicable reason, I've also seen more Flux Grenades being tossed about. Remember, the effectiveness of a tank is always dependent on what sort of weapon is being used on it. |

Oh yes the pain vs armor is actually 6% which is such a insane high bonus. Forget it you will never see a AR alike weapon that does the same damage against armor like scrambler and lasers do against shields. Thats what grenades and massdrivers are for.

If you have proto logi support, the new reppers make shield tanking pointless. I would be better off with empty high slots and stacking complex armor plates. We really need a remote shield rep tool.

Shield tanking is much worse because the damage people are outputting is so much higher. Not to mention that ARs get a bonus against shields. When the new weapons come out perhaps things will change a bit, but right now armor is definitely superior, although not by the vast amount that shields were before. |

Shields need a buff because of TTK there is no point in running shield modules anymore, energizers, regulators lol gtfo if you think shield recharge can compete in any way with the new TTK.. |

What I've noticed from most people, in nearly all the complaint forums, is that they only look at the proto versions, what they are doing, rather then a whole picture approach. A great example of this is with logi's no one talks about how absolute **** the gallente standard logi is, they only cry and whine about the proto logi, when it isn't truly the proto logi's fault for what they are doing. When you are crafting an armor user of any sort, what high mods are really available for the armor user to use, except for the weapon modification, armor can't be speed up in repairs by anything you put into a high slot. Even if I wanted to, the best I could do without using damage mods, is to put on some scouting or shield mods, the options are very limited, neither of which make any sense considering how long it takes for armor users shields to recharge and how **** poor passive scouting is. So we will put on an active scanner, which will actually work and find people much easier and highlight them we even get points for corp mates killing the people who got highlighted (including during orbitals).
All that has truly changed for people using armor is that they can survive better, they don't die within a second and unable to repair, while the Caldari dances around the battlefield aceing everyone in sight. It used to be to even match a Caldari a repper had to be used also for those of you complaining about reppers being better, blow it out your ass, people using reppers can't even see who has actually been injured anymore unless pointing it directly at someone, do you know how annoying that is? Also, if you are complaining about someone repping, it means you aren't tossing gernades to kill them armor has a 50% penalty to all explosive damage.
Yes a shield repper should be available, however, is it really that needed at the current moment compared to core gameplay fixes? Yes nanohives are a pain in the ass due to the way someone can put out all the different types of nanohives at once, this will be fixed next patch hopefully and a lot of the problem will be gone. CCP needs to give armor users better choices in high slot so that they don't just stack pure damage mods. You all should also be saying how the lower end suits need to be treated better then they are and that higher grade mods should have a bigger spread then they currently do. Most of your complaints about armor is unjustified and just a result of them being forced into a position that makes damage mods the only sensible option. |

But anyone who thinks shields need a buff is just plain nuts. |

Or leave shield EHP alone and buff racial recharge/energizers and take away the penalties. . ?

That's the difference I shoot them in the back of the head with my pistol...three times and then terminate the clone...then I run the hell away from his squad giggling like a crazy person.
Dedicated scout. Because the suit is underpowered. Imagine the good ones when we get buffed people ;)
