First off: This thread is a scout's view of the suit. If you're not a scout, we already know what you have to say

Okay, now for actual scout players.
The black eagle scout is slightly interesting.
Initial summary: It claims to be based on a G/1 suit (ADV!) not G-1.
Interesting. And i can see how it lives up to that, with certain limitations.
Imagine you take a minmatar ADV suit: M/1 scout. It has 2 high and 2 low slots
Imagine fitting 1 ADV shield extender, and 2xferroscale plates.
Now make those slots invisible, and subtract the power usage from those, away from the visisble available suit power and cpu.
That's the base of the suit. Which means you get ONE high slot, and thats it for slots.
Then throw in BPOs of
militia shield extender, militia shotgun, militia AR, militia grenade
By itself, it's "usable" for low-power players. But if you have SP invested, it can become even better.
You have a little extra power free, so you can slap in an ADV shield extender to replace the militia BPO one in the slot, and be done.
Or, you can put in a basic one, to give yourself more head room to play in the other slots.
If you have level 5 in all related cpu/power upgrades, you MIGHT be able to fit a complex shield extender, if you put in a non-militia shotgun as well.
I had a small amount of time to play with it this morning. I did best running it as a shotgun scout, ignoring the AR.
(Not that I'm such a great scout -- I'm just sayin)
In summary, I think that if you're a scout, who has not been spoiled by running around in proto suits, then the Black Eagle is actually a useful suit.
It fits in somewhere between a basic suit, and a proto.
It has the range amp of trhe gallente, but the SPEED boost of the minmatar. Nice.
If you're new to scout stuff, and are kinda interested by the suit: I suggest you NOT use it just yet, even though it has
"no prerequisites"
Rather, I suggest that you spend some time in supercheap shotgun scout suits (or AR, if you must), just to get use to it.
If you have 0 scout suit points, maybe just use militia scout suits for a while.
(At least 10 games!)
THEN use the Black Eagle suits.
I think you'll then appreciate the boost that it gives to you.

I used it as by itself.
I wanted to experience what it had to offer as is.
A. Jump height is great.
B. Shotty / AR was fun, coming from a sniper/SMG
C. I missed the nanos and linkers.
D. The Shotty... Now I know why.

Yeah, I threw a complex shield extender on the suit just to make it a little more survivable and I pretty much maxed out the CPU/PG. I did get a M1 on it though.
Just to be clear, I've got my CPU/PG skills maxed as well as having the SG and AR PG reduction skills to level 3 each. |

I'm not going to run them, anyways. I prefer my advanced gal scout with two basic shield ext and and enhanced damper with a MLT kincat. Oh, and of course the ASCR and Nova Knives. |

The scan range advantage is pretty damn good on this suit if you already have level on the Gallente Scout and at least level 3 on the Range Amplification. I can see up to least 31 meters with this suit already. There is also the inherent bonus to profile dampening already built in via the Gallente Scout skill book.
CCP, please fix the Nova Knives. Thank you.

if it's gallente I'll use it, but without the damp bonus it'd be really awful. my play style centers around not being scanned every 2 seconds.

Anyone know if you still get extra suits if you get the 5 kills using a non Black Eagle weapon? I.e. I want to slap a sniper on it, does that still count for earning more suits? |

I think the instructions were fairly explicit about "you must use tyhe suit's weapons for credit"

Good writeup. In the hands of a scout it's definitely a useful suit, especially if you've got a lot of SP in AR/Shotgun and the core skills. I fit a complex shield extender on there but my shotty/AR skills are all operation L1 so I'm a scrub there.
Now that I switched two using 2 sidearms, every suit is a black eagle to me now. 
Overall, I'll save 'em for when I get proficiency level in AR/Shotty and use them as when I use ADV level suits. Maybe when I'm running with someone with an injector for times when I die.... |

Proud ADV Sniper Scout, and i have to say this is actually fun. I wince at the fact that it has no Low Slots - but just slap an ADV shield extender on it and it is golden as black. Having too much fun with the Shotty..oh the shotty - i still love my sniper better.
It's range and profile dampening is impressive, and it is friggin BLACK! all black! Put me in the friggin shadows and i will go riddick on yo a$$!
I love it, i love challenges, i am on it like white on rice...or black on rice ball...or...a guinne pig on a trampoline eating a banna idk. I love it.

Call me spoiled. Because, I can perform better in my G/1 & M/1 than this spanex clad commando CCP slap in a G/1 Series. I am not a fan of this suit, but then again i'm not to partial to AR's either. |
