Or would you rather keep the bonus to sidearms?
Maybe a +2 percent fire rate on projectile light weapons?(just a example)
I'd also like to ask Caldari Assaults the same question. Maybe get the old hybrid reload bonus back? Or something else? |

Caldari is rail technology. ..amarr lasers, minmatar is missles projectiles? Galente is plasma biatches....rail= long range, amarr is second longest then minmatar then galente...rail might be projectiles idr though it was either that or minmatar

I agree, assaults are going to find their edge over logis through weapon utility bonuses, the amarr have the best example, plus you'd be stepping on scout functionality by getting a profile reduction.

I like the side arm bonus a lot. The shield bonus is ******* stupid when the recharge rate is 18.

Yeah, but then it gets tricky with balancing and people crying 'OP' all over the forums.

To fix this...
Amarr: primarily Lasers secondary drones while using Armor for tanking Gallente: both blasters and drones while using Armor for tanking Caldari: both rail guns and missiles while using Shields for tanking Minmatar: both short range autocannons and long range artillary cannons while being able to choose to Armor or Shield tank, but also receiving either a signature or speed bonus or both as the even the developers can't seem to make up their minds and who really cares as they build their ships from the wrecks of the Amarr ones and hold the rust buckets together with duct tape while patching together scavenged weapons systems to shoot at people with. ;)
PS - Minmatar hate the Amarr and Caldari hate the Galente. |

True, but at the end of the day a Assault has gotta Assault. Minnys may not be able to take a punch but they should be able to throw one.

As of right now I don't want any monkeying around on the Min Assault for the simple fact I would be worried it would end up getting nerfed. Personally i'm getting by with it now, and am happy with the way it works for me. I can't deny a speed or dampening boost would be great, but for the sake of dodging the nerf hammer, keep it as is for now, the side arm bonus is good enough. At least in my opinion. |

I'm thinking this way too. The minmatar assault will never be a tanking suit - to even reach 700 EHP you have to sacrifice basically everything.
The sidearm bonus is nice and has served us all well, but it is basically a bonus to a playstyle that is the opposite of what the suit wants, which is to be a limited-engagement skirmisher/flanker.
Imo the suit shout have the standard assault suit bonus and dual racial level-based boni, both %age-based: one to lower base signature profile and one to increase walking/sprint speed, which would also affect strafe speed.

Why not just a 5% increase to projectile/explosive weapon magazine size per level? You'd still get the 100 round SMG, but you'd also get the bonus to the Combat rifle and Mass driver. And yes, I am aware that would give you a 10 round assault mass driver.

See I see the sidearm bonus as being specifically tied to the one of the whole 2 weapons Minmatar has at the release of Uprising the SMG. I love the bonus to to sidearm ammo because its good for running in spraying a bunch of lead and then hopefully getting the hell out of dodge. Unfortunately that playstyle is harder to do with the much talked about TTK being lower. So I wouldn't mind if the minmatar bonus was changed to magazine capacity of projectile weapons or something of that nature, but the sidearm bonus is pretty cool too. |

Hell that would be a better bonus for all assault suits than the paltry 2% per level to shield regen we get now AND it might make assault players a little less butt hurt by logi slayer suits |
