In DUST, people resort to nades simply because they inflict more damage.

Actually most times I use nades it's because of peekaboo tactics or height advantages or multiple enemies and I need to conserve hp between the engagement

Back in Beta, when hit detection was garbage people resorted to just using nades because they gave up trying to shoot people.
Chrome had some of the best hit detection ever. You're an idiot.

The habit still sticks around to this day, but now people a realizing that its just easier to shoot someone because you can drop people so quickly as apposed to before.

You could always drop people this fast, in open beta most people didn't invest in core locus, it wasn't until around May and uprising that core's quickly began to emerge.

If you have a cluster of enemies, then leading with a nade it probably a good idea. But 99.999999999% of nade chuckers do it because of the lack of gun skill.
What an idiot when is leading with a nade not a good idea? Debate it's cheapness, sure, but leading with a cooked nade is never bad.

Everyone on this game PALES in comparison to Dia with cores. Before i was in nyain, I happened to be on his team and I watched as he had only a pair a nova knives on his logi, with cores and a lotta hives, and the dude went 19/0 in a standard ambush by just lobbin em in ERRBODYS face. A few people are good at nades, like kallante schiffer in a PC match, but Dia turns it into a fuckin' art.

I didn't say it was neurosurgery...just putting work into maximizing the use of the weapon. I can respect and appreciate that.

Simply cook the grenade until it explodes at an elevation above the enemy and you score headshot damage giving you an instant kill. It is not difficult to do and anyone who thinks it is probably isn't a very good player.
