A Whale introduced me to DUST actually, and he has long sailed out of the EVE Universe. Everyone I've brought into the game is gone too. I have stated that DUST is losing money hand over fist (hence the removal of BPOs) because even if every active player spent $50/mo, the game would still lose money.
I play because its free and it gives me something to do until Titanfall and Homefront 2 come out (been waiting for 4 years for those two titles). Like a lot of people, I test the game out after each patch, see if anything has improved or changed enough to renew your experience.
But DUST really doesn't have a lot in it. They have a lot of skills and gear to use, but 3 gamemodes (Public, Faction, PC) and 3 gamestypes (Ambush, Skirmish, Domination) isn't going to keep people around.
You can only play the same game time after time. It makes no sense to try new things in this game, because CCP favors certain things over others, so you can only take the frustration for so long. If you set the game down for a couple months, you're left behind. Because the Passive SP still isn't enough for players to catch up. This forces AURUM sales, which is crazy to do in a game that's not even fully functional yet.
Natural attrition along with bad content, bad mechanics, and a bad playerbase is why DUST is considered a flop. It's like the movie Troll 2 (look it up if you want). Their is a reason this game has been bashed by every video game publication that stoops so low to even talk about it. CCP fanbois jump the defense of the game, but people know crap when they see it. IGN has actually removed all DUST 514 information, including the massive database about the game from their website, because they don't want this game to be associated with them because it's that bad.
People aren't stupid. If DUST was good, it wouldn't be on a downward slope of losing players. It would be getting more than 5000 people to play the game daily worldwide. All they have is a bunch of people who like a the free play and a small cult)and I mean CULT) following. |

Pretty sure I explained that in my post. But, like a lot of people on this forum, you read something and only pick out the parts you want to and dismiss everything else that won't suit whatever you have to say. I know, I know... reading is such a chore. Letters, words, sentences... that's asking a lot, and then to contemplate and critically think about what you read... that's asking to much |
