Holy ****, I thought I was imagining it last night. I tried with a Isakone, a Thale's and a Charge and NOTHING I did would register a hit. I thought maybe it was an environment glitch on Spine Crest.

The environment has a larger hitbox than you think, if your aim is just barely over a hill and your target is in sight, its possible the server registers your shots as blocked by the environment but on your screen it plays out normally. Same for the other way around, if a person's head just barely clears a mountain hill or object, the server would register as hitting the environment even though the shot is made on your screen. |

I get that, but I've miss targets who were fully exposed on towers. They take one step to the right and I can hit them, but one to the left and no joy. If the environment hitbox was consistent that'd be a situation you could adjust to.

I notice bad detection still as well. The blue shield hit really bothers me, because I think they (the target) can tell they've been hit even though no damage registers, and so they take evasive action.
I've also noticed that it's much easier to headshot a running scout or medium than it is to HS a stationary heavy; seems illogical. I find it's almost impossible to HS a heavy with any regularity; and I mean strictly in wide-open areas, no cover. |

ya 1.6 screwed the sniper hit detection.
you can still snipe but the outer edges of a character causes a blue shield, and latency correction seems to be gone.
I often hit a character that is running by completely missing, but if I hit dead on it's a miss. |

It was a long weekend here, so maybe it was just lag.

What does that little percentage next the target mean?
Because I had my dot on a guy and it said 90%. I moved to his head and it said 175%. I thought that was how much my shot was going to damage him? But when I shot, the guy still had health left and I had to finish him off with a quick body shot. |

When CCP fixes one thing, they break another. Applaud. Hit detection has always sucked for me. You must find the hitbox it is there, only hidden.

This does seem like the logical answer. i remember playing fallout new vegas and thinking i had a good line of sight and as i go for the headshot, the car i'm crounching anext to takes the shot instead.

As someone who spends a quarter of his time sniping people from towers... Towers don't render for crap-all at a distance and appear much smaller then they really are. This is why it's hilarious when they try and "sneak" to the edge because you can literally see all of them and just have to wait for their head to turn red.

100% is normal, meaning you'll do the normal amount of damage.
175% means you'll do 75% more damage.

With all the I hate sniper threads I do not see this as being fixed. I am tired as well to see an individual and fire 5 shots and not one hits. So I switch to my scout and run up the hill or into the red line and SG them pointblank. At the moment snipers are screwed until they fix hit detection.
