I don't know about everyone else but I'm really enjoying 1.6. And this is coming from a HMG heavy. Yes balanced is ******, but now when I have someone in my reticle I at least know they're going to die. The game runs smoothly now, it just struck me the other day how beautiful the graphics are and the maps, mainly the one the long road and pyramid like structures are among the best I've ever played. I feel really good about this game, it's like it's turned a corner finally. Now if only we can get TTK back up and weapons balanced.

No offense, but I think the heavies are the only ones who CAN look at the graphics. Assault or logi, if you aint moving, you are dying.
I enjoy the game when my team is struggling to cap an objective, never had more gratifying games than the ones where the race is for either the last tick on the MCC or the clone count. Unfortunately I get one of those games maybe once a week. Every other time it is being redlined or stomped or whatever people want to call it when the game sucks. |

I'm a Scout Sniper - and i enjoy the graphics sometimes when i'm on a team full of total blueberries. When i have an actual good team..i snipe and enjoy..snipe and enjoy...OH! look that cloud looks like a bunny! SNIPE!

With a minuscule TTK and snipers you must be in constant motion. Need ammo? Dance around the hive. Guarding an objective? Run around and through it.
It's enough to give me a headache some times. |

I find the newly horrible TTK just sharpens your quickness, i have gotten shots in that i was never expecting...and i have missed shots that i clearly would have made.. Snipers need to be in constant motion because of the danger of being spotted, or because we need another vantage. Need ammo? We find a good perch and drop a hive. Guarding an objective?...headshots abound..and cruel torture by making them dance, shoot at their feet!

I just hide in corners with my shotgun and admire the graphics. Occasionally I ambush people that get too close.

I agree, I wasn't even able to admire the graphics until I hopped in a dropship the other day and then started to look out over the battlefield. And yeah, TTK needs to be adjusted desperately, but I'd rather have a solid technically but unbalanced shooter than one with flawed mechanics but balance.

It's just not a lot of fun right now. Even when you have a good game it feels like work, and when you step outside of the automatic spray comfort zone and try to do something a little more diverse it feels like every line of code in the game is working against you.
They're going to lose every mildly creative non-AR player they have with these constant Doodifications. They'd better figure that out before the player base consists of 400 raging proto-AR miserables yelling swears into their terrible 20p headsets. |

The gameplay is getting better, have had some great games lately. The TTK is a pain, my left thumb now has permanent OCD.
Biggest difference for me is that feeling of constantly fighting the controls is fading away - still more work to do before DUST shines, though. Sticky terrain is also much improved, still a few spots out there when running through the hills.
If the game had originally released like this the ratings would have been 10% higher. Really looking forward to 1.7 for content, but tbh i'm even more interested in engine improvements, optimizations and controls in 1.7.

I feel like the core of the game has really improved: smoother aiming, superb hit detection, no quick sand... CCP should focus most of their attention on balance and content now.

Since the shotgun detection is so good now it makes for epic battles as a scout. Running Minmatar Adv Scout and SMGs I used to not fear shotguns, but now I really have to be careful. But it makes for great battles. Still, ARs especially the Duvolle ruin it at times. I mean I'm battling a guy within 10 M and strafing, I get the first shots off with my SMG and the split second he pulls his trigger I'm dead. WTF? A darn shotgun doesn't do that kind of damage and it's a CQC gun! |

I find it difficult to let go of the controller to take a drink without getting shot, it's just constant dancing even when I'm not headed anywhere.
When I scan I add a spin to the dance for which I simply have to close my eyes or I get sick. |

I'm liking the game better, I'm not sure if it is 1.6 or the two complex damage modifiers.
But, what is up with needing to spin to scan. Surely they would have the tech to not make that necessary? Not that reality has any relevence here but it is an unnecessary nuisance.

Glad to see something positive on here other than the normal QQing.
To add to it... I have noticed less lag in PC lately... even in a game against N.S. it wasn't that bad... maybe I am just getting lucky!
