This thread is not about Empire Semantics and generalisations....
But why do you consider your character to be a "Good Guy" in New Eden, or if you are the opposite, why you consider your character to be a "Bad Guy" .
So which one are you?

Interesting answers..... I would consider True as a Good Guy.... but I don't like Good guys. I like BAD GUYS EVIL GUYS SO EVIL!
They make for better characters anyway.... neutral characters are also very entertaining, can be noble sometimes....and utter coward other times.

The ability for one to choose their own destiny is paramount and any entity that tries to take that right is away should be destroyed. Tolerance is a virtue that free peoples enjoy and tyrants do not understand. I fight the good fight, I fight for those who cannot, I fight for the individual and their right to do as they please. I am not for anarchy or mob rule but I do believe in the rule of law, as long as that law preserves the individual.
As do I.... we could have been brothers if it weren't for our blood.

So which one are you? I think Amarr ppl are the Bad guys. Me being a Real life atheist i really usually dont get involved in religious stuff.MORE reason to Role play as an Amarr Crusader LOL. If i fin out some other race is more ''evil'' than the amarr, hmm... I like being the villain... You cant represent those factions....yet....

I like Caldari because they are the most realistic representation of what future states would be like - aggressive transnational corporations bound by shifting alliances. All other races are just silly cartoons that could never have existed in a real sci-fi universe. See that's where I disagree but I appreciate your opinion and input.

Where do you think is the flaw in that? The Gallente have noble concepts but so do the Amarr, like with all democracies such is fine in peace time but ultimately is a weak kind of government that doesn't have the same drive and motivation as monarchies, dictatorships, and such.
I dislike the Gallente because I see lies in everything they stand for, nothing personal, and this has no bearing on my opinions IRL, but to me the Gallente stink of false promises and empty words.
The Amarr promise a much harder path but one that is ultimately going to be better for humanity in the long run, that ends in the same place as the Gallente. Civil liberties are nice sure, but unity and solidarity, even at the cost of our freedoms are ultimately going to benefit humanity more in the environment New Eden is.

Zero Notion wrote:Good? Bad? Frivolous and meaningless concepts of the foolish. Immortal beings are beyond such moral compartmentalizing, beyond those exercises in restriction that bind them to their death-aware reality. Any mortal meanderings that hope to define the nature of a thing are shaped by their pitifully short years; they could never dream of the wants and desires that an immortal mercenary comes to suffuse their being with. The eyes of the men and women who had lived in the now burnt out husks of the planets we have scoured show the truth of things - they might as well have been looking upon furious, divine messengers who have come to speak the glorious message of War.
And that message is: Carnage.
Good? Bad? Ask them whose cities and worlds we use to stage our brutal wars. Ask those that cower in the ruined shells of their cities after we have sated our thirst for the violence that drives us into our deathless war.
You can ask them if you can find any survivors in the ashes.
I never bother with the opinion of mere ants myself.
(As told by an Amarrian immortal super soldier implanted with alien neurotechnology: surely nothing could ever go wrong with that! Personally, I don't see my dude as good or bad or neutral. He's just in motion, acting in the moment, responding to those moments in a terrible display of violence.)
You represent a great danger that I hope never fully manifests in our kind.
