If you're talking about personal hustling, well damn sir, I can make 1 billion faster than 39 days (that's quite specific) just by skimming off the corp wallet as simple pub battle taxes roll through. A full squad of 6 turns in about 900,000 isk every 6-7 minutes with collected taxes.

Don't dissmis such systems out of hand yet. Even if you see ISK constantly leaking out of wallet this is actually good.
Let me explain. By analyzing who contributes most to the corp wallet and takes least (better yet none) you can find out who is the needle in a New Eden haystack. Everybody else is just a haystack. Finding that needles is a best thing that might happen to you in this s**t hole...

I do appreciate what you are getting at. The speed at which transactions go through in our wallet, the farthest you can usually see back is about four hours---may make it difficult to find those noble and generous members.
At the same token, those 'upstanding' users may be alts planted to generate those feelings of goodwill in users who take the time to study the transaction history. Think about that if you will.

I was pretty fresh to dust at the time I created this corp, but I do remember hearing about a small merc corp of 4 highly skilled players that always ran matches together and trusted one another to set a 100% tax rate and open director access. Yes, I did like that idea, and I would suggest finding or forming a corp like this if this is more of the ideal you seek. As for what I started, I wanted to build upon that idea and go several steps further, for better or worse.
Sure, what has developed might not be your ideal of fun; however, there are others who have become quite fond of its current state and possibilities. It's just simply a different kind of experience. The experience of watching a wallet build up to a monumental peak is different that the experience and tension of never knowing when a powerball lotto might drop into the corp wallet.
If you are interested in a little isk, Jadek discussed with me that ZionShad will be visiting our corp later this week as part of his community tour. In the process, he will be dropping off 10 million isk into the corp wallet at a random time of his choosing.
I'm sure Jadek will be pushing the exact times of his visit out here shortly to the forums. You know how he works.

This kind of corp really seems to encourage people to buy two PS3 to have two accounts running simultaneously. One playing matches and one watching the wallet.....preferably one of the account's name begins with 'A' or a number so it filters to the top of the member list for easier access.
Sony should do an end of console generation sale just for Dust 514, lol!

I don't really care if someone takes all the ISK.
As for people who pretend goodwill it is really a matter of time when they entangle in their own web of lies. Even if somehow they manage to out smart everybody else with their long con it is an experience worth of going through just for educational value. At the end they always show their face: for fame, for lolz, and to just let you know you'r a sucker. It does not matter. All that's matter is that you'll learn something about that character. If somebody is going to engage in such games it just means he/she is a psychopath. It's always good to know it.
I am aware that all this you can succesfully pull off with complex web of alts. But think for a moment about this time and attention consuming effort. It's plain ridiculus to organize this just to teach one person a lesson. I will not drown forums in my qq. And it will proove nothing. Just another elaborate meta game in New Eden.
As always, it's healthy to take you daily dose of paranoia when doing bussines in New Eden. And remeber you deal with real people hidden behind the masks. But you still learn from the actions of those real people

IRL, I work as a professional in the financial services industry, adhering to strict ethical standards, although from my experience at work and cue to local country regulations, I know enough to cover my tracks or at least make it really hard to catch me if I wanted to commit a financial crime. But I don't do it, not because of the fear of punishment, but because of my own moral standards.
In games, I shoot people, scam them for all their money if I can, backstab, lie, cheat, steal... etc.
It's just a game.
How you act within the game does not reflect who you are IRL, either subconscious or not. Being able to separate fictional worlds from real life is a sign of maturity and it's the people that blur that line which really need to seek professional help. |
