Hello friends,
I'm here asking what keeps you in this broken game.
For me, if it weren't for the fact that I could play my music on my ps3 I would be gone a very long time ago.
Not only that but CCP also owes a lot to their art team. Even though the graphics leave much to be desired the design of the suits and weapons is superb with a serious tone rather then cheezyness like other games I've seen going for a futuristic look.
A real sniper doesn't provide battlefield intelligence, a real sniper leaves no intelligence left on the battlefield.

Because I'm waiting for the day that CCP finally has the balls to remove the automatic sniper functionality of the AR.

More seriously,
Hope for the future, I love what this gam can be, it sounds better than all other games out there.
The monthly release cycle of improvements/fixes/changes.
Although the meaning and connectivity is not at the level we all want, it is still more than other games.
Individual character development.
For some unexplainable reason, it is still fun for me.

going toe to toe with another Heavy and winning...
watching people fly after a well placed Mass Driver round...
but best of all....Nova Knifing the person that killed me 20-30 seconds earlier...

Sometimes its good, sometimes not good. The game is not that broken. Back in the beta days, I would assume it's broken.
Things that I like this far:
1. It takes less time to load for a game. If they can optimize this more, then it will be better.
2. The clunkiness feeling is less or not noticeable before.
3. When you call in a vehicle, they don't crash very often. So far I haven't any collision at all. Also, if she said 15 seconds, she really means it.
4. Graphics are a lot better than before.
5. Framerate is a lot more stable.

The long brawl's and gunfights i had in open beta vs amazing FPS talent has had me addicted to this game until GTA finally stole me back from it's disappointing clutches.
Now I'm just here for the faith in the CCP name.. and friends I've made along the way. |

scout is even more fun, until the sound of gunfire startles you and you die of a heart attack.

Crysis 3 was good but hardly anyone played it.

Seriously though, I think it was the strafing aspect of this shooter that made me fall in love with it. I loved chromosome strafe speeds. But now when I think back, I'm left

I love the game purely for the fact that it adds customization far superior to any game I've played in the fps genre. Even though the weapons themselves aren't customizable your character can be tailored to how you want to play. For example, my main fit is a valor scout with an advanced klo pistol and a plasma cannon. I have enhanced armor plating and a enhanced profile dampener. My alt fits remove the cannon, swap armor to enhanced ferroscale and up the pistol to an tty-7 assault pistol, add in a enhanced damage mod and some drop uplinks for good measure. I have so much fun playing these kits that I would never even spec into the more effective kits. It adds challenge to the game on a hard mode scale without making it so I cannot kill anything. Most people that follow me in fact I get to kill, now that I've gotten good.
In short, the rpg elements of skilling into various things and that its a first person shooter keep me interested in the game. But I stay because I see quite a bit of potential, despite rage inducing matches. And this is coming from a person that is just plain unlucky in these games... |
