What am l supposed to do?
- Not play with my friends and corpmates? (Playing Dust solo for 5 hrs will make the game way too boring) - Not use the finelly tweaked suit l've spent 8 months perfecting? - Not maximizing my potential on the battlefield, by extension doing all l can to secure a win for my team?
- What do you want me to do?
And for the record, l normally run a "cheap" protosuit setup that costs 107.775 isk and the isk just keeps piling up. As long as my wallet keeps growing, what possible reason is there for me to not use a proto suit in every single battle?
I've even deleted my ONE roughly 50k enhanced suit. My theory is that the guys complaining about it simply can't afford it.
And don't give me the "need a challenge" BS, playing agressively enough to rack up the kills without dying more than max twice on average is challanging enough.....
I'm tired of the constant QQ messages, especially after downing someone many times with an enh weapon with no mods. Besides, playing mostly EU ambush l do meet lots of other proto squads from gac, wtf, various russians and others.

No remorse was shown for us and the blues.....especially because it was the same 2 corps we kept going against.
All I have to say is this: I hope my RE blows your face so far into your proto suit that not even a respawn will fix it.
So in other words: my posse gets stomped by yours and l hope l'm lucky enough get a RE kill, not even contemplating killing you with my main.
I bet you even get a kick out of taking out a protosuit, -Haha, that dude lost isk because of me, like any of us care about isk....

I mean you do know thats where the majority of the crying about it coming from right, proto scrubs freaking out their gear isnt carrying them as much as it used to, they had the gear with the huge advantage and they got complacent so now that hit detection is better thus lessening the importance of their buffer they flock to the board saying its a problem in the system
And l guess you're one of many that would have a 10 KDR if you could only be bothered to use protogear? Protogear doesn't make you weak, it makes you smarter due to feeling the loss of an expensive suit..
Anyways +1
I aggree about the last part. We've had more and more QQ from "good players" as hitdetection has improved.
Fast reflexes, good aim and situational awareness have never been more important in Dust than right now. They're all qualities important for a good player in every FPS, in a way, the current TTK is a good meassure of player skill, having a hard time these days? I suspect you aren't that good, you're merely used to a now diminnished advantage in terms of dps/ehp.

Nope, Ive been around long enough that I have proto gear but choose not to use it the majority of the time and like many others Ive also been around long enough that I have piles of ISK sitting around so theres really no loss felt I mean lets say I do die 10 times or something in a proto fitting, what does it matter if I have 200+ more of them and hundreds of millions of ISK in my wallet Now I dont know how much ISK you have or how long youve had proto stuff available so the economic loss probably does affect you differently than it does others making you more careful but for the majority of people I think using it are in the same situation I am were its just a few drops in the bucket
I currently have, well several hundreds of million isk too. The sense of loss comes more from general principles of wanting to go positive rather than any practical consern.
And for the record,, l'm more aggressive than most, my squad is mostly far behind me. That is where the challenge is, how aggressively can l push and still make it out alive?

Is it really that hard to just start rocking standard gear instead of proto?
Is it so hard to start using proto gear instead of standard?
The above mentioned points are all natural according to Dust's mechanics, do you really expect fps players too not use our best? We're mostly not Care Bears...

I'm tired of the constant QQ messages, especially after downing someone many times with an enh weapon with no mods. Besides, playing mostly EU ambush l do meet lots of other proto squads from gac, wtf, various russians and others. Go play FW You run in a full protosquad .. in .. Ambush ... seriously ?? Look we all know the system is flawed, if you always went up against those other protosquads and had no new players to improve your stats you;d be whinging and whining about dying more, the simple fact is you run Ambush in a proto suit with other people in protosuits in a squad to go around ganking and killing new players ... The people complaining and sending you hatemail will always be the guys new to the game who have 1m sp that you are killing over and over and over again .. you have no gun game and need the 600hp and huge damage advantage to kill the guys rolling in militia and you're deluded if you actually think any different Your a ganker, you don't have the skill to be anything else
First off, the competition is normally a lot harder in Ambush than it is in any other game mode. 9 of 10 skrmish battles I play leads to 3 minutes of fighting and 10 minutes of redlining, which is really boring and a much bigger stomp than anything we do in Ambush. People are deluded and think the best players play the so called "tactical" game modes, my experience is very different. Ambush is a game that only focus on killing and staying alive, its natural that it will draw players that like it and want to be good at it.
And secondly, you have no idea how my gungame is, Iknow very well at what level I play at. Enough to get invites from the top corps the time I played solo, good enough to get hired for PC over and over again. Just because I prefer a game mode with mostly constant action, doesn't mean anything about my abilities. I can't handle running around on a map hacking a bunch of stuff, its really boring. I've played a great deal of FW lately, and its a complete redline after 3 minutes most of the time. The average "tactical game mode" player base simply doesn't have the gungame for it.
Bring back skirmish 1.0 or any sort of capture the flag game mode and I'll probably never play ambush again....
