I've used HMG's for a month strait without switching classes and playing everyday! I fully skilled into the HMG because i love that type of weaponry, but it didn't take long to figure out that ALL the HMG's (even with complex damage mods on) are almost defensless against the militia AR's or worse the Proto AR's. I've come up with some specs to form a forum petition board to get these specs or something similar into action with your HELP! If CCP knows that we HEAVIES are unsatisfied by the nerfs and that a right niche has NOT been found yet, hopefully we can 'WILL' this into existence.
I've found that the optimal range of HMG's (meaning a range that you actually have a chance of winning a fire fight that you have the element of surprise on) is 30m. Beyond that like 40m is a joke aaaand you'll be dead in a heartbeat. Also the damage that the HMG's do, lets face it, is NOT enough. If your in a firefight with a prototype AR or LR you WILL die almost instantly. It doesn't matter that your a heavy with 600 Shield/Armor when they do 1,000 damage in 2 sec.(No exaggeration, seriously) I remember when in the Beta I fought Sentinels and it took all I had,grenades 'n' all, to bring (1) down! Now that was EPIC! Back then, each class had a flavor of its own and it was AWESOME! Now ALL the classes are starting to blend together with almost no 'significant' reason to skill into each one. I know this will all be worked out one day but please please please let me know what you think in the comments below and if you like this, then share with your friends to spread the word across this new universe we all have grown to love: New Eden.
The range for the Adv. MH-82 should be the range of the Mo-4. The range of the Mo-4 should be the range of Advanced AR's. The Range of the Boundless HMG should be the range of assault Duvolls. The Range of the Freedom HMG should be the Max range of tactical assault rifles. The damage of Adv. HMG'S increased by 2.00 and the damage of prototype HMG's increased by 4.00. (Using the current base damage of Uprising 1.6) Don't nerf the Light weapons, just make the HMG's stand a fighting chance against them. And increase the base Shield/Armor of Sentinels to 2,000/1,000 respectively. And bring us Gallente Heavy Dropsuits please:) And thank you! I'm speaking for the Heavies, the neglected class in Dust 514. |
