I actually think if your racial option had impacts on skills or perks folks would pay a LOT more attention.
I think it would hold you back. |

I agree with this, i may be a sap..but i love backstory/lore..the reason i chose Gallente was because i liked the armor and that they were portrayed as galiant and intaki's were regarded as sage like.

I like how there is practically no point in race.
Maybe CCP should let us align ourselves with Empire Specific Factions. Make being the correct race a requirement and give us themed battles.
Minmatar - Free the slaves from Amarr slaver mercs Amarr - Destroy the heathens who dare to corrupt another world with their paganism Caldari - Fight the corrupt for Caldari people Gallente - Spread "Freedom" and "Democracy" to everyone and anyone because it pays the bills. |

Of course there's more to each race than just the bio but that's a good overview.
It won't necessarily do the Amarr any good unless they did away with the slavery part in the description, the religious part isn't even bad, it's the pairing of the two that makes a pretty potent potion of "**** these guys" but that's a very significant part of their culture, to not have that would be like saying the Caldari aren't founded on the tenants of hardwork or Minmatar Culture isn't tribal in nature or Gallente having the most diverse population of the faction.
Not to be crass but to restate what the other poster said before me, truth hurts.
Besides, the description for the Amarr gives them several big +1 to persuade a person:
*the largest and oldest of the four empires *Amarrian citizens tend to be highly educated *the Amarr Empire is the most stable nation and most powerful military in New Eden
The newer the berry the dumber the juice.

Choosing a rave only matters if you like a specific starter suit which requires trying every race out, or being a lore nerd. You can skill into other races' suits (which I think is ridiculous) and weapons if you want, so in the end, it doesn't really matter. |

Perhaps the Amarr know something that the others do not. Some deeply seeded secret from a time before the EVE Gates collapsed, when humanity had taken its first steps toward ascension beyond their mortal and biological coils that bind them. Perhaps the EVE Gate collapsing was a timely, if not divinely, mishap that brought the foolish mortals who thought to play at Godhood back down into the Earth where they belong.
Perhaps their entire culture, even their zealous and divinely blessed Monarchy, is a tool to keep men where they belong. A unified faith and way of life to ensure that the foolish will not dream beyond the boundaries of their own horizon and safeguarding all of humanity from a wayward sect or tribe that might bring about disaster by way of their lofty arrogance. Truly it is the Amarr who shoulder this heavy burden, like the ancient Titan Atlas shouldering the weight of the world; they bear the weight of hope for all human kind, made heavier by the methodology they must employ to protect them.
Luckily, they're doing just a fine job! Right?
No immortal soldiers or rogue capsuleers in this universe. No sir. |

Signed.
EVE Online suffers from the same thing, because they use the same videos.
Besides, I think we should choose race, and THEN gender. Now before I choose my race I always have to see Caldari mercs.
