You guys were on the right path with buffing the Scout's scan distance; it needs to one step further and allow Scouts to be capable of having a passive scan radius of 360 degrees around them. If they are going to be lightly armored, low pg/cpu and few slots then there must be more defensive measures in place to increase survivability in a match. This would help with the success of stealthy, Ninja attacks as well. Just a thought. |

This plus the shotgun fix would be devastatingly powerful. |

I typically play an Assault or Logistics dropsuit but I've got a secondary character that has 4 million SP dedicated into Scout and Snipers, along with a smattering in pistols, ScR and SMG. I've got another that's advanced Heavy and Commando - so far, out of all the suits, the Scouts seem to have the least going for them except for the Commando (but at least he can fill several different roles if need be..sort of).
It would be powerful for sure but they need to retain their fragility, their speed and their stealth niche without giving or taking away too much of their current base stats and slots - I feel that they are perfect, slot/stat wise, in terms of being a deep recon and ambushing class. They wouldn't need invisibility with this - they should be able to 'see' more than any other class in order to be able to react quickly, hack unguarded points, flee from opponents as they approach, etc. No need to buff their health or shields, give them a tool to utilize properly as the class demands and I think you'd find more happy scouts (except the nova knifers, sorry dudes). |

Don't passive scan, scan 360 degrees now?
Assassination is my thing.

Pretty sure it doesn't, it's in a cone shape in front of you. |

It is 360 degrees. The cone in front is the line-of-sight spotting which every suit gets. |

Ahh, I guess that I was referring to; a more 360 LoS for the Suit. |

Potentially, I suppose it would be something akin to an active scanner that's always on but based on the suits precision capabilities. |

Your line of sight gives you much further "view" than your passive scan range does. Essentially the effect would be giving you a scan range further than the actual radar in your hud has, add to that the 10% bonus to range of Gal scout and or range extendersGǪ it would be too much I think. This character is all about the passive scan, and if you gave this buff to it, i could open the map screen and tell you exactly where every enemy, uplink, and nano hive is. Hell i can tell a heavy from an assault just by how fast in move in the Tacnet, I would be OP. 20m range for all scout frames with 16m for other light frames would be a balanced fix, although I find the current 16 to be very useful.

Hm, so I'm confused. Why is it that I don't see enemies approaching from behind? I thought you had to be facing them and win a precision contest in order light them on the tac? Everything I know is a lie! |

Um... I know I'm absolutely certain that the passive scan IS 360 degrees.
CCP, please fix the Nova Knives. Thank you.

Hm. I'm going to experiment with some range enhances and see if it changes; I can't honestly recall a time when I noticed someone creeping up behind me and having their chevron appear in the TAC but I may be imagining things. |

I lay REs down before a hack to defend my butt, when i see them coming i detonate and continue hacking. I know that i can see them behind me. But i recommend experimenting, it's fun.

I run Range Amplifiers. It works 360-¦ and in a 3D sphere above and below you
Also I tested it out and the basic frame (not scout) does indeed have a scan radius of 20m as standard (but obviously taking advantage of that leaves you open to scanners )
