So I make a point to squad with randoms every now and then just to see how the average person is dealing with the game. I am always surprised when I hear someone say something like "I'm just about to get to my goal of having 200 of my proto light scout suits" or something.
My question is, what makes you want a stack of something? Stockpiling dropsuits/modules/complete fittings/vehicles etc, does nothing for you IMO. All it does is commit you to using that whole stack before spending your money on something else to further experiment. If anything, it probably commits you to a playstyle that may not really be optimal to what you have to deal with. Furthermore, you will probably become more dissappointed with your choices to stockpile if you DO choose the wrong thing, because at that point, your investment is a suck cost with a crappy return.
So why are you all such pack rats? |

I have all 30 of my fitting slots used. I use a few different kinds of fittings each match depending on how things are going. It takes less than 30 seconds for me to restore all of my used suits to 10 or more for each match. I just select the fitting, then select restock, then I'm good. |

Yeah, this is pretty much the rationale that appears to be happening here...It's along the lines of, "What is better than a game's worth of logi suits? 50 GAMES WORTH OF LOGI SUITS!" But you can only play one game at a time, and rarely have less than 30 seconds between matches. |

Right now I'm at 150 Assault ck 0's, 150 Duvolles, complex mods, etc. I do it because no one knows when the marketplace is coming, and seems like a good idea to stock up just in case.
...Still irrational, IMO. They will announce well ahead of time when it is coming. Until it comes, prices wont change. If prices do change it is unlikely that stockpiles will have a huge impact, and it would be more than likely that your stockpiles would just be re-liquidated into isk. |

Another way I see your stockpiling reasoning as backward is its kind of like you are giving yourself permission to just blow a TON of stuff all at once. That is only the case if your stockpile is for your grindy suits. If you have only like 10 of each fitting at a time, and then set a goal to grow your wallet by x million per week, then you will more likely pay attention to the bottom line AND performance. |

Like you individually go inside of each fitting, and separately select each module/weapon and make a purchase? This seems more complicated than necessary...you know you can just select the fitting and restock? |
