IDK why CCP got rid of the only worthwhile things to buy in this game (Merc, Elite, and Veteran Packs).
I confess I bought a Merc pack just about every month. $20/month is a little expensive to spend on a game, (I'd say $12-15 is average) which is still high for a game like this where so little effort/cash is put into its dev. Skip the BPO's for a sec. For $20 the merc pack basically came with 30 day active booster, and enough ISK to buy a 30 day passive booster, with a little isk left over.
Now if I want a 30 day passive and active booster I have to spend $30, which is way too much. So, now I will never spend another dime on this game again unless you start to sell Respect Tokens, a $15 pack that comes with a 30 day active and 30 day passive booster, or something really cool at a reasonable price. You have released anything mildly interesting since the packs mentioned above. |

I've stopped spending money on this game until they can figure out if they want it to succeed or not. I usually drop $20 a month on it but I haven't been yet and once I got armored Core Verdict day I don't expect to play too much outside of getting SP.

I'll buy more AUR if and only if all racial dropsuits are released by the end of 2013. I imagine I'll just be flat-out done with the game if they aren't released by then.
But to answer your main point:
Permanent things are the only things worth spending money on. With BPOs gone, that leaves boosters. (The SP is permanent.) And they're priced too high to buy every month.

I've dumped a couple hundred into the game. I doubt I will spend more unless booster prices are much more realistic or BPO's are available, and even then, since having the elite pack and a select few other BPO's, I'm not sure anything else will have enough value to me to spend more money on. Make my protosuit bpo and maybe.... ;)
I agree with the model that even $20 a month is not realistic for the current pseudo-beta state of this game. I paid much less than that for years in the highly polished, high content WoW. Dust doesn't a scratch the surface of a game like that. |

Not going to spend money anymore. Would you buy a software to where very important features are not usable? They market it as doing specific functions, but when you BUY it and install it and try to use the specific function in the software and it says, "it's on the road map and we're still thinking about on how to implement it. But hey, never mind that. Look at this fancy function that can do this and that! You can still use it, but just not these features" Oh, really? Keep up theses tactics CCP. Whatever your problem is behind the scene is YOUR problem! Stop making the players suffer from your INCOMPETENCE and giving these monthly updates that should have been there before the damn launch! Get your head out of your ass CCP! Stop over promising and under delivering! |

personally i would only ever spend money on dust for boosters and for bpos and since they are removing bpo's i would not be spending money on those. and i was going to stop buying boosters because i didnt think the game was worth it anymore. however after 1.6's hit detection i will continue to fund my boosters when i run. |

I don't know why the hell CCP removed BPO's. That was the main reason players bought the packs. It's just stupid and bad business. Most people won't spend money unless they can keep what they pay for.
They claim it's market breaking, and that's BS. You still have to buy modules, etc. Instead, what they should do is add a passive ISK gain, and reduce the amount of ISK paid out for matches. The more money you print, the less value it has. Economics 101.
Or another simple idea: Leave BPO's, and in match, just assign a certain value to a BPO users suit the same as a STD suit. That affects payout.
I for one will not be spending money on anything after my AUR is depleted (120,000). I'll spend what's left on boosters, use them up, and that's it. They won't get a dime from me unless they fix the pack/BPO problem. They listened to all the mooches and sponges QQ about people that paid for BPO stuff, and now the BPO people like me are pissed. It's not like we had BPO Duvolles or something.
EVE's market works because they make money with a subscription. No one here will pay a sub fee to play this game. BPO's are ESSENTIAL to this game making money. Because without them, no money means no game. It's that simple. |

I spread my purchases out.
So far I've spent mostly for Boosters, but if I'm trying to get somebody into the game, I might spend a small amount of AUR to get a weapon or suit or tank (at a low lvl) that I can't normally use to let them get a feel for it.
My budget is to spend about $60 on this game every 6-12 months, so by my count, I'm basically spending equal or less to what I'd pay to keep up with another FPS brand. (Not counting DLC for those games) |

The new W.A.R packs brought in to replace the old merc packs are awful. i bought the vet pack for the covenant gear and now that the merc packs are removed its highly unlikely i'll buy any of the other packs. the merc packs were great value for money for something whcih CCP generate out of thin air with the removal of BPOs there is nothing worth buying except boosters now. at almost 30mill sp anything i want to use i can already use so i aint gonna go throw money away on AUR items. i may as well just go stand outside throwing money on the street |

I have enough boosters from merc packs that I won't need to spend anymore.
In two months I'll have everything I want SP wise, so I'll just be accumulating SP for stuff to come.
Now ISK boosters are something that I'd consider. Eve has a skill that boosts the payouts of missions so it's not out of the question. |

The only reason I've spent money on Dust was for BPOs.
So, ultimately the answer is no. If BPOs are gone for good, It's highly unlikely I'll spend anymore money on this game. I also don't see the kind of serious change coming from the development team that makes me feel warm & cozy about this game lasting long enough to warrant anymore dollars invested. |

They have done nothing to redeem themselves since.
I don't need consumables, and I don't really need SP, at least not until sometime next year, which passive can more than do for me if I decide to just play something else.
