Just so everyone is aware they nerfed the splash on turret dmg on tanks. Like we really needed nerfed yet again. Really getting tired of the BS they have put us tanks through since the 1.4 swarm launcher buff. Especially for those of us whom have dedicated tankers. |

You are obviously not at tank so shush. You obviously have not read that they are nerfing tanks in 1.7 with reduced slots 3/2 and 2/3 not ot mention taking our proto stuff like proto turrets away etc. |

Why would they nerf splash damage on our turrets? I could understand if they gave us a compromise, such as ROF increase, increase to round size, etc.
Who at CCP said, "oh well tanks really need that splash damage nerf on their turrets"?

Last time I checked, you aren't the only person who plays this game. This is DUST 514, not TANK 514 (yet).
So as long as they play the game and know what they are talking about, you have no right to say "shush"

Do you have any details on which turrets got what nerfs? Are you talking about Tuesday's patch or upcoming in 1.7?
We got another ninja-nerf in Tuesday's patch in the form of applying the "stuck to tank" prevention code to friendlies AND enemies.
Meaning, effectively, you can no longer run enemies over in a tank. If you try to do so, they will just teleport behind you. LOLphysics.

Tanks will be fine. They are pretty solid now with the AV drop and the new rebalancing, not to mention when the Pilot Suit hits they will be in the place they should be. Dependant on Modules to survive, lower than current HP values, higher EHP values, and with decent module cycling.
All we need now is to get the turrets in a good place.
REMOVE THE LARGE BLASTER. Or make it a small direct fire cannon.

Lowered splash damage means large turrets will be less effective against infantry.
AV nerf to swarms means one of the main sources of vehicle suppression is taking a hit (although it's really not that big of a nerf as most people think it is. Mainly a boon for dropship pilots, of which I am eternally grateful to CCP).
This means soon one of the only viable anti-tank weapons is another tank. However, with the standardisation of tank modules, this means one tank and another will have fairly similar stats, so the victor will be the one who uses their modules more wisely and is generally more skillful at tanking. But even if they dominate the battlefield, their infantry slaying capabilities are much reduced by ammunition and reduced splash damage.
Sounds like good balance to me.

You didn't read it either. We still have our PROTO ****, they are only taking away variants of turrets, and the Tech 2 vehicles.

To be fair the blaster is supposed to be a short range high rof weapon. (CoughfixtheARCough) But it makes combat nothing but a 12 second brawl that requires very little skills and IMO doesn't fit the role of a tank. Heavy Explosive and line breaking Ordinance. Sadly there is not reason not to use the blaster in most situations.
As I said, I have not issue with the smaller turrets being high RoF and short range. But this kind of highly potent ordinance can also be achieved through the 8 shot ordinance cannon style.
Where 1 blaster shell is the equivalent of 8-10 smaller rounds with greater AoE, slower than current blaster RoF, but the highest RoF of all battle cannon. Think PS2 Lightening's main gun.
E.G-
Heavy Neutron Blaster- 8 rounds, largest AoE, Decent RoF Heavy AutoCannon- 16 Rounds, decent AoE, Highest RoF, least accuracy. Heavy Laser- Till Over Heat/ Charged Shot. Low/Nill AoE, Lowered RoF Railgun- 3 Shots, Low AoE, Low RoF.

To the troll shush, I got a near 10 mil straight tanker and you?
To everyone else note the nerf to splash went into effect with 1.6 so it's live now. The proto is only doing like 100 dmg on missiles, would have to double check numbers again on rails. |

I just find it hard to imagine that the most sophicticated tanks in New Eden still use the strategy lets run up there and bash his head in with a rock.... rather than, this armoured vehicle is a platform for a really big gun.
