Tanks would then have to rely on slower firing AV rounds to peg infantry, not just spray and pray. I know I would like that.

Tanks will be fine. They are pretty solid now with the AV drop and the new rebalancing, not to mention when the Pilot Suit hits they will be in the place they should be. Dependant on Modules to survive, lower than current HP values, higher EHP values, and with decent module cycling.
All we need now is to get the turrets in a good place.
REMOVE THE LARGE BLASTER. Or make it a small direct fire cannon.

Really because IMO the current large blaster should be reduces in DPS and coverted to a medium blaster turret to fit on MAV, giving that the Anti Infantry power, a niche role, and making tanks carry large ordinance to better combat vehicles, and with large AoE rounds infantry too at a less prolific pace.
And no I wont, the Large Blaster is the bane of skilful and enjoyable tank combat. I regret that I use one from time to time, Im trying to branch out into Rail Guns.

To be fair the blaster is supposed to be a short range high rof weapon. (CoughfixtheARCough) But it makes combat nothing but a 12 second brawl that requires very little skills and IMO doesn't fit the role of a tank. Heavy Explosive and line breaking Ordinance. Sadly there is not reason not to use the blaster in most situations.
As I said, I have not issue with the smaller turrets being high RoF and short range. But this kind of highly potent ordinance can also be achieved through the 8 shot ordinance cannon style.
Where 1 blaster shell is the equivalent of 8-10 smaller rounds with greater AoE, slower than current blaster RoF, but the highest RoF of all battle cannon. Think PS2 Lightening's main gun.
E.G-
Heavy Neutron Blaster- 8 rounds, largest AoE, Decent RoF Heavy AutoCannon- 16 Rounds, decent AoE, Highest RoF, least accuracy. Heavy Laser- Till Over Heat/ Charged Shot. Low/Nill AoE, Lowered RoF Railgun- 3 Shots, Low AoE, Low RoF.

No, you see thats reasonable and if Im in a tank I should dominate absolutely everything no matter what unless its another tank But tanks don't usually engage infantry..... well not in terms of real world tanks.... I just find it hard to imagine that the most sophicticated tanks in New Eden still use the strategy lets run up there and bash his head in with a rock.... rather than, this armoured vehicle is a platform for a really big gun.
