What would you guy complain about if there was no cap? Lots of people want there to be no cap at all. Would you complain about that? With the triple SP it is just like having no cap. I don't understand what you people want.

What more do you want I don't even understand why this thread is here. Don't have time to cap out? WHO CARES?
What is this thread about? What is the problem? You got what you wanted by being able to make MORE SP. Why are you complaining? Takes to long to cap out? Then don't do it! Fuckjng babies, grow up and get a life you self entiltled bunch of kids. Get a job or a second one so you can QQ some more about something else. Get over it.

Like others have said, these events are supposed to be about drawi8ng attention to the game. For both new players coming into dust and old players that have stopped playing.
The problem is CCP slips up time and time again. My conclusion is they MUST want dust to fail. I don't see how their actions could be perceived otherwise.
These events and the loss of decent merc. packs make this abundantly clear.
My little bit of advice to CCP. You want old players to come back and new players to give dust a try..... then give people a great incentive!
How about a REAL "Triple SP" for all new players until they reach say 3-5m sp? Different packs that cater to new players and packs that cater to vets. Things people really want, not just some rehashed old suit we have all seen before.
Defending actions? You mean the rewards people begged for? Pathetic.

You must have no clue what the consequences for no cap would be, and it is far greater than some random kid having 100 million SP.
I like the daily cap and if it was up to me all SP would be passive. What is your point?

Smart people using numbers to appeal to rationalilty, and extremely ignorant, retard3d, selfish people ruining it. It doesn't help that not a single person who used the word "entitlement" in this thread was able to do so correctly. The word has to be explicitly linked to a particular object or personal activity. Just throwing the word out as a label has the same value as calling someone a "Rubber Duck." This is what happens when people listen to angry politicians or ranting political commentators. As far as this even goes all I have is this question: "What is the point of having an artificial limit to skill point gain over the week if it's just going to be raised and lowered for unclear reasons?"
Hey rubber duck read number 3. http://i.word.com/idictionary/entitlement

Aero Yassavi wrote:EDIT: If you're just going to say "entitlement" then get out. There is nothing entitling about this argument. Do you honestly think it's a good idea for CCP to more than double the time required to reach the cap? If so, you're probably one of those people who are in favor of removing the cap all together and don't even understand why it exists in the first place. Furthermore, you must not understand the consequences associated with raising the time to reach the cap, such as AFK farming which results in even more pub stomping. No one is acting entitled, we're only pointing out a poor implementation. To be quite honest, the only people who are saying "Entitlement" are probably the people with way too much time on their hands and want to take advantage of getting more SP than everyone else. If you can cap during a normal week, you should be able to cap during a triple SP week.
Just to be clear, when you are in battle there are three types of SP being awarded.
1 SP per 1 WP, counted towards your active skill points. This is being tripled.
5 SP per 1 second in battle, this is only obtained when you are in a match and is counted as active skill points and is part of the skill points displayed at the end of the battle. This will not be tripled (foolishly).
1 SP per 3.6 seconds, which would of been gained regardless of whether you were in a battle or not. This is counted as passive SP, and obviously isn't tripled.
Now the problem here is that there are two parts to the active skill points, and only the lesser one is tripled. Meanwhile, the active skill point cap is tripled. So let's break out the math. Assume a match of Skirmish on average lasts 15 minutes, and the average Joe gets 1000 war points a match. So that is
Normal Week 15 minutes * 60 seconds / minute * 5 SP / second = 4,500 SP 1000 WP * 1 SP / WP = 1,000 SP Total SP gained from battle: 5,500 SP Weekly Cap: 190,400 SP Matches to cap out: 190,400 SP / 5,500 SP / match) = 34.618 matches >>> 35 matches to cap out
Triple SP Event Done Properly 15 minutes * 60 seconds / minute * 5 SP / second * 3 = 13,500 SP 1000 WP * 1 SP / WP * 3 = 3,000 SP Total SP gained from battle: 16,500 SP Weekly Cap: 190,400 SP * 3 = 571,200 SP Matches to cap out: 571,200 SP / (16,500 SP / match) = 34.618 matches >>> 35 matches to cap out
Triple SP Even in Reality 15 minutes * 60 seconds / minute * 5 SP / second = 4,500 SP 1000 WP * 1 SP/ WP * 3 = 3,000 SP Total SP gained from battle: 7,500 SP Weekly Cap: 190,400 SP * 3 = 571,200 SP Matches t cap out: 571,200 SP / (7,500 SP / match) = 76.16 matches >>> 77 matches to cap out
Now look, I know this is all SP we wouldn't normally be getting and it may sound like I'm acting entitled, but please leave those pity arguments behind. People want to cap out so they don't feel like they are missing out, but because of the way CCP has implemented this triple SP event, they are asking people to more than double their play time which is absurd! I believe CCP said they only started doing WP only getting counted for bonus SP events to avoid AFK players, but since then they have implemented the AFK kick system and the truth of the matter is that this only encourages people to get a rubber band and AFK anyways. Who has time for 77 matches in one week?
Come on CCP, show us you have common sense!
Feel like they miss out is the only part of a sentence that makes any sense.

Death Dealer86 wrote:These events are a joke to say the least. Any other game that offers a double or triple XP event is as clear as it is stated. It's not this read between the lines bullshit we get from CCP every month. Not to mention the ever changing landscape from month to month.
A patch is released and it changes the complete feel of the game. This has happened at least 3 times. I can't even count on coming back to a game that I have dedicated so much of my time to become accustomed to. I have never played a game that has changed it's central gameplay so much. My heavy has been rendered completely useless with this patch and they expect me to grind out some crap ass read between the lines triple* sp event? This must be a joke.
Time for me to move on to something I can rely on and something I know will have the same feel and core mechanics in 3 weeks. Good luck to all you mercs who decide to stick it out and constantly get bent over so they can stick it where the sun don't shine. I can't take anymore. My ass hurts!
Play it for three weeks so you can be done with it. Those games only have content added for a few months and the funny part is that after you pay for the game to play you have to pay more for DLC that was finished when the game was released. I live paying $100 for a game with a three month shelf life.

dustwaffle wrote:The level of entitlement in this thread is astounding. Here's a tip: You don't HAVE to grind out the matches. You get extra SP if you maintain your current play times. If you have more time or make more time to play this week, then you get more SP. It's simple. CCP isn't responsible for your sense of entitlement, you have to deal with it yourself. Here's a simple analogy to make things simpler for you. Say on your local radio station, there's a dial-in competition, where if you enter you get $5 cash in hand. Every time you participate in the event you get your reward handed out to you. Naturally, someone with more time on their hands will get more rewards, and someone with less time won't get more. Do you think you should be entitled to the same rewards as the person with more time? Do you gripe about it? If so, you really need a reality check. Also, at the comments about 'adults with work and married with children' etc. Well, if you think capping out at a video game takes priority over other commitments, then you need to get your priorities and your life sorted. Instead of viewing this as 'CCP is forcing me to play more to enjoy the rewards', maybe grow up, lose that entitled view, and start viewing this as 'CCP is rewarding me if I play more, and if I don't, I still get more SP than I normally would'. First world problems and the people that have them
You deserve a cookie or a kiss or some kind of reward you like for writing something that doesn't lower my IQ when I read it.

I play for fun not SP. I have only capped once and I could care less about capping out. I have a life that DUST and EVE allow me to get away from and have fun. If I don't enjoy playing then I stop. I don't complain about protostomping or callogi or how I can't get enough SP. I don't cheat in any way, shape, form or fashion and I don't grief other players because I want others to have fun like me. I think that the game is quit boring and to be honest I don't even like FPS games.
I like games that are very difficult. I always play on the hardest setting allowed in every game I play. This game is not difficult to play or to learn. I am not good at it but it is because I don't do well with a gun. That is why I am a logi. I play the game because when I lose something it is because the other persons is better than me and the items lost are gone forever. To me the difficulty is what keeps me playing. Well that and I love Sci-fi.
The thing I don't like the most is the negative attitudes and the demands placed on the people making the game. I have stayed away form multiplayer games because I don't like the way the internet makes people act because they think they can say and do anything without being blamed or punished. This thread is another prime example of why I don't like MMOs. Armchair developers sit at their house and ridicule and berate the people who are trying to give us something fun to do an yet themselves couldn't do 1/100 of what the devs do.
I don't mean to go on a long winded diatribe but the problem isn't CCP it is parts of the community that can't or won't empathize with what they are doing and how difficult it really is. Sometimes it embarrasses me to read what others say and how they act. I would beat my kids a$$ if they acted like some of the people here. There are a lot of people who need to grow up and learn to respect others like adults should and to be perfectly honest I hope they get back what they give out. Everything comes around full circle and ten fold.
TL:DR Grow up and treat people as you want to be treated. You know, things your mom told you when you were a kid.
