So? I don't have a problem with people using a tool available to them. I have a problem with the tool being available. It is not fun gameplay when every time you start to kill someone you have to suddenly deal with three nuclear snowballs.

It's just way too easy to switch to your grenade and back to your weapon.
In fact we change our sidearms and other **** way too quickly in this game. 1 second to pull out my submachine gun, lol really? what universe is this?

Lately, all I get from Scouts is them cooking nades and going on suicide missions. Because often DUST Player Logic is, "Well, I can't shoot him quick enough, so I'll just use a grenade..."

Assuming Scout's TTK is at or under 0.5 seconds:
Target HP > 3 Shotgun Blasts = Low odds of Scout success Target HP = 1 Surprise Nade + 1 Shotgun Blast = Greater odds of Scout success |

Everyone gets grenade spammed not just scouts Funnily enough that fraction of a second they take to throw a grenade gives me just enough time to secure a kill and high tail it out of there if all they do is grenade spam to defend

I'll use a grenade on a scout if I get the jump on him from behind. I'll also use a grenade on almost anyone if i'm starting to run low on my clip and want to reload. I seem to have less luck with grenades against heavies and high HP assaults/logis, so i'm less inclined to use grenades against those classes. I generally save my grenades for groups of reds and things like doorways/hallways.
I personally don't think grenades are that bad right now, other than those times when a perfectly cooked/thrown grenade does absolutely no damage. But I haven't played much since 1.6 hit, so maybe that's been changed. Don't get me wrong, I die to grenades all the time. But more often than not, it's either cause I got froggy and ran up into a whole mess of reds when I should have held back, or chased someone blindly around a corner when, again, I should have held back, or if someone just flat out nails me with a perfect throw, which I can't really complain about. And I do run an assault suit, i'm sure that helps.
The nade spam thing with the nanohives, or at a supply depot, is pretty annoying, but I don't see it to much. I don't know if it's a problem in PC, for the most part in pubs if the opposing team beat you with the nade spam, they were probably going to beat you anyway.

My bad then, I just misunderstood the tone. There's a pattern that CCP follows; if more than a couple people speak out against grenades, then grenades will get the nerf hammer. I'm just worried that the grenades will be double-nerfed, reduced AOE and damage, to the point they wouldn't work to scare someone out of cover, or discourage a shotgun scout from charging. |

You're on a suicide mission as soon as you spawn in a scout suit, why not toss a few nades before you go down? |
