It does not overheat much slower or even a bit slower since it really overheats a TINY bit slower to do a TINY bit more damage in exchange for 225 feedback damage that results in suicide. Thats a pisspoor proto weapon.

Meaning that its damage is much higher for longer than the basic laser rifle, and that is further increased by the Amarr Assault Suit (and related skill). you realize you cannot argue with math right? https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=118895 the math of laser rifle is in this thread..and lemme tell you as someone who has used laser allot in dust (mostly in closed beta as through most of uprising it had iron sights) SKILL can account for the difference..and stats wise by not using it you can make fullout armor tanks on gallente and amarian suits with triple dmg mods and melt people for our empress...you cannot do that while burdened with the viziams pg and cpu costs..and at MAX SKILLS heat cost means **** when its only a 1.11x decrease

The basic laser has less ISK cost, less CPU cost and less PG cost. I can fit more complex damage mods on a suit with a basic laser. I can fit LESS complex damage mods when using a viziam laser. I end up haveing MORE damage output capability from a basic laser. Viziam proto laser useless. No, you can't. The longer the laser heats, the more damage it does. Viziam heats longer.
