The recent update that stopped friendly players from getting stuck to tanks is also affecting enemy units.
I've hit multiple people going full speed and it just neatly shuffles them to the side as if it was a friendly unit. This is also detrimental to tank vs. AV, as AV players are teleported to your flank and rear as you bump them. If I manage to run someone over in a tank, that person needs to die... not teleport to the weakest point and out of my view.
I'm hoping this is accidental - waiting for a blue response.... I don't think it's accidental.

I thought it was Christmas yesterday there were 4-5 reds all next to each other, I hit the nitrous and my tank became a Roadsweepers. Not impressed.
On another note the fragmented missiles were doing absolutely sod all damage to them afterward, I know beforehand you had to be sneaky (in a tank lol) and get behind them line them up and run them over and it was pretty much needed, but now ( I'll have to do a few more tests) the missiles fell like they're nerfed, you would seriously need the ability to run over reds |

Often it's the most efficient way of dealing with the AVer - one of the most common ones is the idiot proto-forge in the middle of the road with an MLT swarm by the side - I need to eliminate the forger or I die, and I need to leave quickly or the MLT swarm will kill me shortly afterwards.
So rather than wasting time aiming, I just pop nitro and squish the forger and take both steps at the same time.
Sometimes I do it because the red is in a ditch or something my turret can't reach, and other times it's just for sheer entertainment value.

I mean seriously CCP, how the hell can you do this? Don't you test ANYTHING before deploying a patch? Do you not realize we're all losing faith in you, not just tankers? How can you remove physics from a game? Just because infantry is still complaining that there's a way to run them over?

Ya but still, did they change the model for HAV's? (Serious question I honestly don't know) The models remain the same, it's the physics behind the tank/infantry interaction. Pre-patch you could "push" both enemies and friendlies. Friendly units would be pushed until they were dislodged, whereas enemy units would be crushed after a few meters of driving. After today's patch, friendly AND enemy units just teleport to the side of your tank (or the rear if you're moving quickly forward) -- This is regardless of how "central" the hit on them is. Even if they're in the middle of the tank and I hit going max speed with a nitrous booster, they still teleport aside unharmed. I'm assuming this is in error, just looking for CCP to clarify the mishap. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an error or oversight.

This should have been tested before release, because not being able to run over infantry in my tank is already stupid.
Better test more thoroughly for 1.7, or whenever the vehicle patch finally gets here. I just lost one because I couldn't use the front of my tank as an impromptu weapon.
CCP FIX THIS

I know your answer will be turning the turret, well that's because you have no idea what it's like to tank. So please stop commenting.
You probably think not being able to run over red dots is the best thing CCP has done for tanking since the swarm buff.

From what I've seen tanks only run people over as a last resort. I guess but they do have small turrets, while I do agree that this seems like a bug and should be fixed it also just seems that trying to run someone over in a tank is the worst course of action As we've all said, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Like most of the other tankers have mentioned, getting run over by a tank is rare. It's a last ditch effort when all other possibilities are exhausted.
QQ, ****, And MOAN.
You ruined tanking, just simply ruined it. I can never ever enjoy it again! (Being dramatic here trolls!)

its pretty amazing how much I have come to rely on being able to run a person over, it was often the maneuver i'd turn to when all else failed or I had an audience and I knew it would produce a few laughs, shame they couldn't fix the exploitable griefing bug but keep the ability to road kill. |
