Hi,
The recent update that stopped friendly players from getting stuck to tanks is also affecting enemy units.
I've hit multiple people going full speed and it just neatly shuffles them to the side as if it was a friendly unit. This is also detrimental to tank vs. AV, as AV players are teleported to your flank and rear as you bump them. If I manage to run someone over in a tank, that person needs to die... not teleport to the weakest point and out of my view.
I'm hoping this is accidental - waiting for a blue response.... |

The models remain the same, it's the physics behind the tank/infantry interaction. Pre-patch you could "push" both enemies and friendlies. Friendly units would be pushed until they were dislodged, whereas enemy units would be crushed after a few meters of driving.
After today's patch, friendly AND enemy units just teleport to the side of your tank (or the rear if you're moving quickly forward) -- This is regardless of how "central" the hit on them is. Even if they're in the middle of the tank and I hit going max speed with a nitrous booster, they still teleport aside unharmed. I'm assuming this is in error, just looking for CCP to clarify the mishap. |

Yah... That doesn't happen anymore as of Tuesday's patch. If you're a friendly you get gently bumped aside.
My problem is that I'm also gently bumping aside enemy units while hitting them at full speed. That equates to them suddenly being behind me and scoring critical hits. |

I lost a tank a few rounds ago trying to smash a forge gunner into a wall he was standing next to. He teleported behind me, I smashed into the wall, he forges me right in the rear hull for the kill.
Derp physics at work here... |

I'm hoping this post garners a blue response so we can clarify if this is an intended metric or unexpected result of fixing a different problem.
I'm doing my best to not get upset until someone from CCP tells me this is "working as intended" -- I really hope the alternate is true and there will be a patch to fix enemy collision damage. I'm worried this is just going to become the new norm with no comment from CCP... Please tell us what's going on here! |

Tebu Gan wrote:Used to be, AV was somewhat leery about getting right up by a tank, for getting squashed was a possibility.
It seems as the metric has been reversed now.
Pre-patch: AV users were scared to bump into my tank because I might run them over. Post-patch: I'm scared to bump into AV with my tank because they'll teleport out of my view and destroy me from behind.
Seriously, the only circumstance in which I should be worried about running over enemy infantry is if they're standing on proximity explosives... |

There may be multiple different answers for this dependent on the particular tank. In the circumstance I posted about (trying to run over the forge gunner) I was running a blaster, had nearly overheated and was using all available methods to dispatch the enemy at hand. Smashing him into a wall seemed to be an adequate solution to my problem. I was a bit dumbfounded when it worked out in his favour.
