In this short video I'm playing skirmish and was facing off against another player. I ended up taking him down in the long run, but not before he was able to take out my entire shield base and a good chunk of armor (keep in mind I'm in a heavy suit with one complex plate)
574 shield 256 armor = 830 hp
He was running a C-I Assault suit and a Gek (most likely no damage mods), but may have had proficiency in his weapon.
I don't want to do all of the math, but 830/1.15 = 722 damage per second. If we say that my timing is off and make it so that it took 1.3 seconds, the damage would be 638 per second. This is still absurd.
He might have been getting headshots, but I just don't understand how we can let a gun this accurate and powerful be in the game. At 638 damage per second, he would have killed me in a little more than 2 seconds...
I ask you, how is this fun? How is this fair?
You can clearly see that at 30 meters away he was in my optimal and I was dealing 105-110% damage per hit, but because the HMG is balanced and he was strafing, my accuracy means I don't hit him with every bullet. Yet he is able to hit me with every single one of his rounds since the AR has no spread when ADS.
Has the hit detection in 1.6 contributed to this damage increase for the output of the assault rifle? Or am I just an idiot for not using a medium suit with an AR? >.>

Headshot+Lvl5 Prof+one Cx DMG mod.
Did ya try that one out?
Wait, I just did that.
Assuming a headshot is a x2 bonus, that is over 900 DPS.
And, the new HD helps you apply that DPS better.
Edit- Didn't watch vid, just throwing ideas out.

Why do headshots do more damage? Shouldn't a bullet that hits a shield in the chest area so as much damage as a bullet that hits a shield in the head area? They're energy bubbles...
Same with New Eden's version of armor. Energized plates of nanometal that work like fluid ablative armor. They can withstand any punishment so long as they are energized. So a shot to the chest should do as much as a shot to the head if there is energy remaining... |

Headshots are 160 shield, 140 armor assuming AR. And yes, their hipfire has to be brought down, along with increases in kick under ads.

I am curious, has anyone checked to see if headshots are aim assisted as well? I hope not, as they should be skill based only. |

Yes, my bad. I do 90% of my blogging and such on an iphone4s. Not to mention the 3 second latency when i'm typing, makes catching mistakes 300x harder.

From that range dispersion makes hitting with every round impossible anyway. Had he had a bit armor left when you started shooting him, you would have been the one down instead. |

just tap the fire button like mad. voila! every shot is as accurate as the next. edit: people who use the ScR can vouch for this. |
