TTK got even lower.
GG, CCP, I'm glad you improved the hit detection, but the game has come down to who can fit the highest tank now.
I cant stand to play another match today, hopefully it was just a bad day.

Not true, the game is way better. It actually makes lighter suits viable again because the favored weapons of those suits (shotty, knives, SMG, etc) actually hit. My first match I went 21 and 3 with about 450 eHP. In what world does bad hit detection make a game better?

You clearly haven't played today, or just aren't a Scout. Knives are no better.
DUST is not a twitch shooter, even in 500HP Med Frames I was dropping fast to Duvolles.

Even when I was sprinting, at 10.36m/s, I was dropped by a Duvolle in under half a second.
And no, I wasn't running away, or toward him.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a working game with a low TTK than a game where living or dying was mostly determined by whether or not the server was in a good mood. TTK can be fixed easily - fundamental flaws with the engine, not so much.
Also, I'd like to remind people that knifes are not meant to be a primary weapon - and using them as such will generally put you at a disadvantage. |

I understand that. But am I really expected to wait a month through what is basically a twitch shooter?
Knives aren't ineffective, they're just broken. They're balanced, they do enough damage, although could use that dash ability they've been talking about.
They just have the worst HD in the game right now.

I have played.. I just assumed that knives got better cause the shotty feels pretty good. No I'm not a scout but big play a very light minmatar assault, so I understand how easy it is to die. It also means you can kill quickly before people get more than a few shots off.
And stop telling dust what it is or isn't. Obviously it's not a twitch shooter, but maybe they didn't intend it to take 5 secs to kill people every time.

The TTK is too short, sure, but I like the game better in many ways now. To be clear, I'm no twitch-shooter master, and would likely do much better with a longer TTK.
BUT.... too twitchy or not, I very much appreciate the fact that it's not completely random whether or not my shots hit the target and I, not the server, have some influence on whether or not I lose a firefight.
Thing is, there's not much point making a major balance pass right now with the new weapons coming out in a month. It would be wasted effort to an extent because the rail and combat rifles need to be out in the wild for a while before we know what really needs to be done.

Shotgun - Improved. SMG - No change. Knives - No change. EZ Mode - ScRs and ARs outperform SG and HMG in CQC ... to an even greater degree than before.

I particularly enjoyed the bit, in previous versions, were people would stop taking damage at exactly 50% armour, that was always fun. |

You could live for a long time back then because HD was worse, strafing was better, and there was no AA.
Truth be told. I liked those days better than now.

Or fighting 1 guy and accidentally killing a scout 40m behind him! We are happy it works don't get us wrong, but when the TTK between suits varying by 300hp is about 0.8 secs why bother with modules at all?
