So can we admit that a pretty sizeable amount of people want respecs? Vets can shout and scream till they go blue that one should just deal with it, but the masses want respecs, and respecs aren't being provided. the next best thing someone can do about it is grind from the start or using pretty bad skills, OR not play and rely on passive skills until they feel they have enough to go into something else.
Now for the average 'Gamer' (I'm using this term loosely here), I'm thinking that they would rather go with the latter. Why waste their time doing something which they don't enjoy, when they can just wait a while and get into a better position and do something else they enjoy?
My solution with basically speed up the process that the latter choice gives by... siphoning skill points.
If you have a skill that you don't use, and becomes redundant, and theres another skill you do want, why not just siphon off the time put into the unwanted skill and put it into another. This process would take time, and could be reduced by boosters sold on the market.
Why not?

Maken Tosch wrote:Please read the sticky thread covering the weekly feedback that CCP is looking into. CCP might (I stress MIGHT) consider implementing a "Skill-Back Booster" that does exactly what you suggest. However, it disables passive SP gains while active. Which means you lose any chance to gain NEW SP while trying to siphon OLD SP that you already have and it takes time (spanning a few days at least).
Please link it to me. I'm having trouble searching for it. |

People that want respecs are advocates of high player counts that fall off quickly and then move on to the next new game. How's that for making up 'facts'?
Now why do you think they move onto other games? I personally when I see a fault with something I don't use it, and this game has a fault of not having much flexibility. |

Where is this lack of flexibility?
If I think that Gallante sound pretty sweet, but I don't have the money to test them out with auram, what am I gonna do? Well, skill into them. Once I skill into them, and realize that I don't work well wiht them and want to test out Minmatar, I've got to fight and earn those skill points again. Well no, I might as well use my passive ability and just leave the game for a while. |

Where is this lack of flexibility? its the time, it takes too long for someone to get the equipment they want, thus people leave... if it was easier say less SP sinks then people would probably stay instead of going to other games that give them what they want within a reasonable timeframe.
This. It takes too damn long to do anything in this game, and theres no real way to tell if a skill is a good idea. |
