just as we have limited player count and limited vehicles we should also limit the amount of droplinks and nanohives each team can put down
in some areas mainly PC and Domination I notice a lot of lag when playing on maps where the enemy or friendly team puts a lot of them on the map
until this problem is fixed I suggest you limit the amount you can have active per team so we have more stable games with higher tier players

There already is a limit.
People are just using a loophole in the system to bypass it and spam the field.

No Nova, he's complaining about something one or two Logis can do with a single suit.
He doesn't want three or four uplinks all within a thirty meter radius of an objective because he can't deal with it.
The thing is that uplinks and their density isn't what is preventing his team from taking an objective, it's his team's ability to deal with the density of enemy guns in the area. After all, uplinks don't kill, guns do. So maybe we should limit the number of guns that can be active near an objective so that his team can take it more readily without having to deal with any more complicated tactics than a simple zerg?
Lets just say that your gun won't work if it's within ten meters of another gun. That will get rid of all that gun spam on the objective and force the defending team to use more tactics than just packing the area with guns. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it? |

While there is some credence to the fact that heavy uplink/hive spam can cause lag in games (especially in the lab room facility), it is also very easy to clear said uplinks. Allotek fluxes + nanohives will get rid of everything and net you a tidy sum of points. |

The prevelence of scanners means it's nearly impossible to hide an uplink again, forcing us to lay down a few more to have any chance of keeping any alive for use. |

I've noticed that my scanner sometimes fails to detect uplinks for some reason. They pick up nanohives but not always uplinks. Usually I have to rely on line of sight detection to find them. |

The game needs to be able to handle it and it usually does. There is no exploit/bypass here. Logis like myself have a lot of time invested into these skills and we want to take full advantage of them. And while I am firmly against ANY restrictions on equipment use, whatsoever, one major flaw in your particular suggestion is that it would cap the equipment regardless of the quality of the equipment (standard vs. proto) and the deployment location of the equipment (near vs. far). He who is first to deploy his equipment would ensure that his equipment gets deployed despite the fact that there might be a particularly skilled and experienced support player who has better equipment and better judgement as to its placement on the field and therefore would help his team more if only his equipment was on the field. No thanks. |

It's a strategy learn to deal with it plus equipment destruction gives you war points now so you should be easy. Also the max amount of uplinks a player can put down is 3 so unless the entire enemy team has skilled in to and is utilizing uplinks you shouldn't have to big of a problem. It all comes down to fitting preparations and battlefield strategys. |

plz only if ur a PC vet respond.........I swear some of u have no idea what I mean didn't know I had to explain but "REAL GAMES" look like Christmas where santa-logis place 15 uplinks and 15-20 nanos per team and when u come close to it the lag is so bad u can barely walk without skipping frames :P I could care less about them putting them up its just about how horrible gameplay is

Then make a new thread: [REQUEST] Optimize game to handle mass equipment deployment.
The answer shouldn't involve restricting gameplay, it should be about improving game performance.

Uplinks should get a radius when placed down so no other noob tries to take your spot when placing another down especially if its a good spot, the higher the tier of uplink the more the radius.
Assassination is my thing.

Do you people put thirty seconds of thought in before you spam your ideas?
What's to prevent a "noob" from being first to claim a spot with a poor placement and lock everyone else out? |

To help with lag yes, but really wish CCP would develop better ways to handle the uplinks that would allow matches to remain stable.
As a tactic no, they are a legit way to take objectives. Really would like a counter though. Like an equipment spawn jammer that locks out uplinks or at least adds to the timer. These should have a large radius. |

Perhaps a static glow? Right now it's got a pulsing radius with a sparkly interior. That's got to use a fair amount of processor power. |
